Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, the world's largest AI semiconductor company, presented his vision for the future of the AI industry and Korea's role in a meeting with domestic media at the NVIDIA press conference held at the 2025 APEC Gyeongju on the 31st.

First, CEO Hwang said at the meeting that day, “We plan to deploy 260,000 GPUs in Korea over the next year,” and “This is part of building infrastructure for AI model learning and inference, and we will create an AI ecosystem in cooperation with major domestic companies such as Samsung, SK, Hyundai, and Naver.”

He emphasized, “AI needs factories, just like semiconductors,” and “AI cannot be created without an AI factory.”

He added, “Based on this infrastructure, Korea can leap beyond Asia and become a global AI hub.”

He said, “Rubin GPU is scheduled for mass production in the second half of next year, and we have already secured all the silicon and systems.”

When asked about the differences in technological capabilities, he said, “Samsung focuses on various fields, and SK Hynix focuses on memory, so each has its own strengths.” He added, “NVIDIA is continuing successful collaborations with both companies, and we need all of Korea’s capabilities.”

Regarding Physical AI, CEO Hwang emphasized, “Korea is one of the few countries that can make robots and build factories where robots make robots,” and “Korea has global competitiveness in implementing Physical AI.”

CEO Hwang defined physical AI as “AI that understands the laws of nature,” explaining that “this is essential for industries that interact with the physical world, such as self-driving cars, robots, and manufacturing automation.”

“Physical AI must understand the laws of physics, such as cause and effect, the persistence of objects, and inertia,” he said, adding that “this technology will impact a $100 trillion industry worldwide.”

In particular, Korea's shipbuilding, automobile, and semiconductor industries were identified as fields optimized for integration with physical AI.

CEO Hwang said, “Korea is a manufacturing powerhouse and a country that is experiencing a labor shortage problem,” adding, “AI“By supplementing the workforce in manufacturing sites, the growth potential of Korean industries will be further expanded,” he said.

When asked about the Chinese market, he said, “China is producing excellent AI chips of its own, and concerns that American technology could be exploited for military purposes are unconvincing.”

He emphasized that “the Chinese market is large and dynamic, and cooperation with China is crucial for American technology to become a global standard.”


Regarding the core elements of building AI infrastructure, CEO Hwang explained, “AI is not a problem that can be solved with a single GPU, but a problem for the entire data center and system.”

He said, “NVIDIA designs six new chips every year and innovates chips, software, and systems simultaneously through extreme co-design,” adding, “This integrated approach is NVIDIA’s core competitive edge.”

Also, when asked whether it is a good time to buy Nvidia stock now that its stock price has skyrocketed, CEO Huang said, “Nvidia is a very good investment,” and added, “AI provides the intelligence that forms the basis of all industries, and this is a new industry that mankind first created.”

He said, “NVIDIA is not just a technology company, but a company that has gone through hardships and He expressed confidence, saying, “This is a company that has reinvented itself through perseverance,” and “This kind of company will continue to create the future.”

Finally, CEO Hwang made a joking remark, “Korea has the best memory technology in the world, and its chicken and beer are also the best.”
