Ibis (CEO Nam Ki-mo), a vehicle and mobility software specialist, and QNX (CEO Kim Seong-cheol), a BlackBerry subsidiary, have joined hands to jointly develop next-generation embedded software.

On the 21st, Ibis announced that it will enter the next-generation embedded software market by forming a strategic partnership with QNX.

Ibis has joined QNX's channel partner program as a Value Added Integrator (VAI), establishing a foundation for rapidly supplying mission-critical solutions in the global market.

The core of the collaboration is to utilize real-time operating systems (RTOS) and safety certification technologies that require safety and reliability based on the QNX operating system (QNX® OS), and to expand into general embedded markets such as aerospace, defense, railway, robotics, and medical devices in addition to the automotive sector.

We also plan to strengthen our capabilities in supplying high-performance, highly reliable software to domestic and international customers.

Ibis already has experience supplying infotainment middleware platforms to global automakers and major Tier-1 partners, including Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors, Hyundai Mobis, and LG Electronics.
