Automotive software specialist Vector Korea has begun training automotive cybersecurity talent, a key task for the future mobility industry.

Vector Korea announced on the 25th that it will officially sponsor 'AutoHack 2025', the largest automobile security competition in Korea, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan from November 26th to 28th.

'AutoHack 2025' is an event hosted by the Future Automobile Business Group of Kookmin University and co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, Busan Metropolitan City, and the Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University Business Group.

The preliminary round was held online on November 1st, and offline training for the final round was held on November 15th. The final round will be held for three days from November 26th to 28th at BEXCO in Busan.

This competition is not a simple theoretical evaluation, but consists of practical missions based on practice. In the preliminary round, basic security technologies such as vulnerability analysis (Pwnable) and reversing were evaluated, and in the final round, difficult tasks such as analysis of attack and defense scenarios for unmanned vehicles (CAN, RF, GPS, etc.), application of fuzzing techniques, and implementation of intrusion detection systems (IDS) were performed.

Vector Korea provides practical support beyond simple sponsorship.

CANoe licenses and technical support will be provided to finalists, along with virtual vehicle problems, simulation environments, and test equipment required for the competition. Furthermore, the team actively participates in training and mentoring to prepare for the finals, contributing to the development of field-oriented talent.

In particular, Vector Korea provides challenge problems created based on its cybersecurity testing experience in a CANoe-based virtual vehicle simulation environment.

Through this, participants can directly experience vulnerability detection, fuzzing, and penetration processes in an environment similar to an actual vehicle, and raise their vehicle network security testing and analysis capabilities to a practical level.

Winners of the competition receive various awards and privileges. The grand prize winner will receive the Minister of Education Award, followed by prestigious awards such as the Busan Mayor's Award, the National Research Foundation of Korea Chairman's Award, and the Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University Project Council Chairman's Award. Vector Korea will participate as a special award recipient and personally present its own award.
