Global semiconductor company Infineon Technologies (Korea CEO Seungsoo Lee) provides a compact and cost-effective motor control solution.

Infineon announced on the 25th that it has recently introduced a new MOTIX™ 32-bit system-on-chip (SoC) family targeting the automotive motor control market.

The newly launched TLE994x and TLE995x series are optimized solutions for brushed (BDC) and brushless (BLDC) motor applications, and can be applied to various vehicle functions such as electric vehicle battery cooling, seat adjustment, and power windows.

As the number of motors used in modern vehicles, including electric vehicles, has rapidly increased, the importance of motor control technology is also growing in applications directly related to safety.

Accordingly, automobile manufacturers require reliable, compact and cost-effective solutions, and Infineon has combined its experience in motor control with advanced features, functional safety and cybersecurity in this new product.

The TLE995x (BLDC, 3-phase) is suitable for pumps and fans in thermal management systems, while the TLE994x (BDC, 2-phase) is optimized for convenience features such as electric seats and power windows.

Both products integrate advanced diagnostic and protection features to ensure reliable motor operation.

Infineon's new SoCs integrate gate drivers, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, and power supplies into a single chip, delivering powerful functionality with a minimal footprint.

It is equipped with an Arm® Cortex®-M23 core (up to 40MHz) and has integrated flash and RAM.

It ensures efficient and precise motor operation with FOC (Field-Oriented Control) function and generates flexible PWM based on CCU7.

Automatic LIN message processing reduces CPU load, all devices comply with the ISO 26262 (ASIL B) functional safety standard, and provide enhanced system security through Arm® TrustZone® technology.

With the TLE994x/5x series, Infineon also introduces the next-generation MOTIX MCU family based on the scalable TLE99xx platform. This integrated approach enables hardware and software synergy across products, simplifying design and increasing development efficiency.

Infineon also offers a comprehensive development ecosystem including evaluation boards, simulation tools, and dedicated software packages to accelerate design-in.

In particular, the 150W water pump reference design and FOC motor control software support rapid prototyping, stable performance, and shortened time to market.
