AI semiconductor company Mobilint is partnering with AI video analysis solution provider SphereAX to launch an edge AI video analysis business aimed at industrial safety management and the establishment of smart infrastructure. The two companies plan to combine their respective semiconductor and algorithm technologies to jointly develop a solution capable of real-time video analysis, and based on this, pursue entry into the safety and security market.

Mobilint announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sphere AX for cooperation in AI-based safety, security, and smart infrastructure businesses. This agreement focuses on expanding the scope of cooperation from technology development to demonstration and commercialization, centering on video analysis technology operating in edge environments.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue the joint development of edge AI-based intelligent video analysis solutions, the identification of business opportunities in the industrial safety and security sectors, technology review and proof-of-concept (PoC), joint marketing, and ecosystem linkage. This establishes a cooperation structure that goes beyond a simple technology partnership and takes into account actual application in industrial settings.

The roles are also divided. Mobilint provides a hardware platform capable of processing AI computations in edge environments based on a high-performance NPU, while SphereAX plans to implement intelligent video analysis capabilities by integrating AI algorithms that analyze video data. This combination is explained as being suitable for safety management areas where real-time response is critical, as it allows for immediate analysis close to the site without transmitting data over long distances.

The target areas for application include manufacturing sites, construction sites, and public facilities. The two companies plan to review methods to establish real-time safety monitoring and intelligent security systems in these environments, and enhance the potential for commercialization after verifying performance in actual operating conditions. They are also exploring expansion into the smart infrastructure sector in addition to industrial safety management.

The CEOs of both companies view this collaboration as a catalyst for expanding the application scope of video-based AI. In particular, they predict that the potential for utilizing edge AI video analysis technology will increase in areas requiring immediate perception and decision-making on-site, such as mobility, drones, and robots. This agreement is seen as an attempt by semiconductor and application software companies to combine their respective strengths to materialize industry-ready AI solutions.
