As artificial intelligence technology changes the landscape of the cybersecurity environment, an international security conference focusing on AI-based threats and response strategies will be held in Seoul.

The '.HACK Conference 2026' will be held at COEX in Seoul for two days starting April 7.

This year's event, themed 'New Threats, New Rules,' addresses the new attack patterns created by AI technology and the evolution of security systems to respond to them as its core agenda.

In particular, the main sessions consisted of security vulnerabilities emerging from the proliferation of generative AI and large-scale language models (LLM), as well as practical strategies to defend against them.

At the center of the conference is the AI security track.

Industry security experts and researchers will participate to share analyses of actual attack cases and technical countermeasures, presenting field-proven security know-how that goes beyond theory.

Tyler Naiswander, a researcher at the global security firm Theori, will deliver the keynote address by introducing security vulnerability detection techniques utilizing LLM, and will share the process of how AI identifies weaknesses in complex code environments as well as his experiences in practical application.

Discussions are also continuing to ensure the safety of the AI system itself.

On the first day of the event, the finals of the 'DreamHack Hacking Defense Competition 2026,' hosted by DreamHack, the nation's largest cybersecurity education platform, will be held, featuring a tense competition of practical security skills.

On the second day, about 20 specialized sessions reflecting the latest technology trends, such as cloud security, Linux kernel, and Web3 security, will be held.

Along with the exhibition of security solutions, a networking space featuring major security communities will be set up on-site, and active technical exchange among participants is expected.

"As the adoption of AI accelerates, security threats are also evolving rapidly," said an official from the .hack conference. "This event will be a practical forum for discussion confirming that AI can be both a threat and the most powerful defense mechanism."
