Intel has established a new leadership system to strengthen business competitiveness in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.


Intel announced on the 7th that it has appointed Santosh Viswanathan, General Manager of India, as General Manager of APJ.

This personnel reshuffle is interpreted as a measure to pursue an integrated strategy encompassing the Asia-Pacific region and Japan as a whole amidst the rapidly changing global semiconductor market environment.

With this appointment, General Manager Viswanathan will oversee business operations across the Asia-Pacific region and Japan, extending beyond the existing Indian market.

He leads Intel's business growth strategy in the region and is responsible for enhancing brand value and strengthening cooperation with key customers and partners.

In particular, he/she will play a key role in executing Intel's strategic priorities in the APJ region, which features diverse industrial and market characteristics.

General Manager Viswanathan, who has built a career in the global IT industry for over 20 years, is regarded within Intel as a leader with extensive regional experience.

Until recently, he led Intel's India region and contributed to developing India into a major growth hub for the company.

Previously, he oversaw business operations in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and served as APJ's formerI have performed various leadership roles in the class.

Early in his career at Intel, he served as the Global Operations Director at the U.S. headquarters, leading the operational strategies and planning of sales organizations worldwide.

In this process, it supported innovation projects targeting the global market and contributed to strengthening Intel's sales competitiveness.

General Manager Viswanathan emphasized, “The Asia-Pacific and Japan regions are the fastest-growing and most diverse in the world,” adding that “people, partners, and the technology ecosystem are the region’s greatest strengths.”

He added, “Now that I have assumed expanded responsibilities, I will identify new opportunities across the region and lead sustainable growth.”

Meanwhile, General Manager Viswanathan holds bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering and business administration as well as an MBA, and is expected to drive Intel's long-term growth in the APJ region based on his expertise spanning technology and business.
