Applied Materials Korea won the Grand Prize in the Community Contribution category at the '2026 Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Forbes Social Contribution Awards' in recognition of its achievements in continuing community engagement activities, such as environmental protection and educational support.

Applied Materials Korea received the Grand Prize in the Community Contribution category at the '2026 Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Forbes Social Contribution Awards' ceremony held on the 27th. Hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this award is presented to companies and organizations that have fulfilled their social responsibilities by evaluating their performance in practicing ESG management and continuous social contribution activities.

This award reflects the company's continued participation in activities involving employees and the local community in the fields of environment, education, and culture and arts. Since 2020, Applied has sponsored the citizen-participatory environmental protection program "Our River Guardians," and over the past six years, together with approximately 20,000 citizens, has thrown about 435,000 EM mud balls into rivers.

Employees and staff have also participated in river ecosystem restoration activities, such as throwing EM mud balls and plogging, together with their families. This year, the activity area was expanded to include downtown Seoul streams such as Tancheon, Anyangcheon, and Bulgwangcheon.

Support activities for future generations are also continuing. The company has supported the 'Science Class with Applied' for five consecutive years and the 'Traditional Culture Class with Applied' for two consecutive years, providing hands-on science education and mask dance experience programs.

In addition, since 2012, it has been participating in a scholarship program organized by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association to support the development of semiconductor talent, and has been providing opportunities for industrial field experience through the university student internship program 'APPLIEDer'.
