Nordic Semiconductor is expanding AI-based support capabilities across the entire IoT device development process. This involves integrating workflows to enable development and analysis to be performed in a consistent environment from the initial design phase to the operational stage.

Nordic Semiconductor announced on the 5th that it is extending AI-based development support capabilities across the entire IoT (Internet of Things) device lifecycle. The company explained that it provides AI workflows at every stage based on a 'Chip-to-Cloud' architecture that connects from chip design to the cloud.

IoT device development typically follows a structure where different tools and environments are used for each stage, such as prototype development, product manufacturing, and field operations. Nordic has proposed an approach that integrates these into a single AI-based environment.

The company explained that developers can use development kits to quickly create prototypes during the initial idea implementation phase. Additionally, by utilizing various AI assistants during the coding process, they can reduce repetitive tasks and improve the accuracy of results.

Problem analysis and debugging are possible in the same environment even after the actual device is deployed to the field. It is a method of analyzing causes using AI based on data collected during operation.

Nordic explained that AI capabilities in the existing embedded development field often remain at the level of code editors. In contrast, they stated that this new feature integrates hardware, software, and cloud services to be applied to the entire development process.

AI support capabilities have been extended to SDKs (Software Development Kits), the product manufacturing stage, and even devices in actual operation. The goal is to provide a consistent management system from development to operation.

The delivery method is based on the 'Nordic MCP Server'. Developers can use it in conjunction with their AI assistants.

Nordic explained that the feature serves to assist developers rather than replace their work. The company stated that it plans to gradually expand AI-based capabilities in the IoT development environment.
