Samsung Electronics Wins 8 Awards, Including 2 Top Prizes at Red Dot Design Award 2026

Samsung Electronics announced on the 14th that it won two "Best of the Best" awards and six "Winner" awards in the Design Concept category of the Red Dot Design Award, established by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany in 1955.
The Red Dot Design Award is presented in three categories: product design, design concept, and brand and communication.
The top awards went to 'Samsung Home Appliances Accessories' and the kids' robots 'Dremo & Minimo,' respectively.
The preliminary concept design for home appliance consumables applied a method that intuitively distinguishes processing methods based on part color.
It is a structure that guides proper disposal without separate explanations by classifying semi-permanent parts in gray, recyclable parts in green, and general waste in brown.
This concept has swept all three of the world's major design awards by adding the Red Dot top prize, following the iF Design Award 2026 Gold and IDEA Design Award 2024 Gold.
The kids' robots 'Dreamo and Minimo' are based on the concept of using AI to provide a personalized experience tailored to a child's interests and developmental stage.
It is designed so that the home-use main unit 'Dreamo' and the portable 'Minimo' link up, allowing children to continuously interact with a generative AI character they have created themselves.
The six concepts that received the main award are △'AI Beauty Mirror,' which analyzes skin condition through facial scanning and suggests care △The 'AI Interface Panorama UX' automatically optimizes screen composition and interaction according to user characteristics; 'AI Kitchen' which supports everything from meal recommendations to ingredient management, cooking, and washing; 'Spatial Tab', a glasses-free 3D-based conversational platform; 'PUCO', an AI home companion that provides interaction through spatial projection and non-verbal interaction; and 'Fluid AI Design System', which configures customized interfaces by combining AI agents and generative UI.
Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer (CDO) of Samsung Electronics' DX Division, said, “As technology advances, what is important is a deep understanding of people,” adding, “We will continue to create more natural and meaningful experiences based on Expressive Design that reflects individual diversity.”

KT's 'IoT Wi-Fi Speaker' Receives Favorable Reviews for Character-Style Design and IoT Convergence
KT announced that it has won the Best of the best award in the Entertainment category of the Concept division at the 2016 Red Dot Design Award for its IoT design. This award is given only to the top 1% of all submitted works, and KT achieved the honor of winning for two consecutive years following its 2015 award. This year's winning entry, the 'IoT WiFi Speaker,' features multiple speakers that are interconnected via WiFi, enabling simultaneous playback of the same music with rich 5.1 channel surround sound throughout all spaces in the home, including multiple rooms, living rooms, and kitchens. The device can also be controlled through an app installed on a smartphone.

LG Electronics OLED TV Smart Refrigerator 'Red Dot Award' Design Best Award

Lenovo Wins 'Red Dot Design Award' for 5 Consecutive Years
Lenovo announced that it won a total of 11 awards at the '2017 Red Dot Design Award'. With this achievement, Lenovo has accomplished the distinction of winning the Red Dot Design Award for five consecutive years, starting with the 'Red Dot Design Team of the Year' award in 2013. The Red Dot Design Award is an international design competition held in Essen, Germany, and is counted among the world's three most prestigious design awards alongside Germany's iF Award and the United States' IDEA Award. Each year, design professionals and industry experts participate as judges, and this year, approximately 5,500 entries competed, submitted from 54 countries around the world. Following its recent win at the '2017 iF Design Award', Lenovo has once again received recognition for its design capabilities with the Red Dot Design Award.

SKT Opens Mobile ICT Experience Center in Peru
SK텔레콤은 페루 리마의 수이자(Suiza) 초등학교에서 이동형 ICT 체험관 ‘티움(T.um) 모바일’의 개관 기념식을 가졌다고 밝혔다. 이번 페루 방문은 ‘티움 모바일’이 올해 초 열린 MWC 2017기간에 스페인 바르셀로나를 찾은 데서 싹이 텄다. 이후 스페인어권에서 ‘티움 모바일’의 인지도가 높아져 페루, 파라과이, 아르헨티나 등 중남미 국가의 초청이 줄을 이었다. SK텔레콤은 우선 케이팝(K-POP)과 한국 드라마 등이 인기를 끌며 ‘중남미 한류 열풍의 중심지’로 부상한 페루를 방문, 한류의 영역을 ICT까지 확장한다는 방침이다. 티움 모바일’은 34번째 방문지 페루 리마로 가기 위해 완전히 새롭게 탈바꿈했다. 2015년 세계적인 디자인 공모전인 독일 ‘레드닷 어워드’에서 디자인 콘셉트 부문 대상을 받은 이동식 컨테이너 교실 ‘박스쿨(Boxchool)’의 디자인을 적용, 구축과 이동의 용이성을 극대화했다. 컨테이너의 특성을 활용, 빠르게 조립/분해할 수 있고 이동 또한 자유자재로 가능한 점이 특징이다.
