SK Telecom introduced the AI glasses 'Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2)', jointly developed by Meta and EssilorLuxottica, to the domestic market. It is a wearable device that allows users to call an AI assistant via voice commands and easily utilize the camera and speaker, and SKT plans to make this launch the first step in expanding its AI device lineup.

SKT announced on the 22nd that it has started selling six models of the 'Ray-Ban Meta' Wayfarer Gen2.

Sales channels are the official online store T Direct Shop and six PS&M stores in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions (Jamsil Lotte Store, Daechi Store, IFC Store, Suwon Starfield Store, Euljiro Store, and Hwajeong Station Store).

We plan to operate a fitting experience and function demonstration space in the offline store.

The product allows you to activate the Korean-based Meta AI with the “Hey Meta” voice command and supports question answering, photo taking, media control, and message response.

It is capable of shooting 3K Ultra HD video with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and is equipped with five microphones and open-ear speakers, allowing you to make calls and listen to music without blocking out ambient sounds.

It weighs about 50g and supports IPX4 water resistance.

The battery lasts for up to 8 hours on its own and up to 48 hours when used with the charging case.

The released colors include a total of six types, such as Matte Black (2 types of Clear and 2 types of Gradient Graphite) and Shiny Black (2 types of Green).

The price is 690,000 won or 740,000 won (including VAT) depending on the model.

SKT announced that it is also considering developing a specialized service that combines its own AI service 'A.dot' with the voice and camera-based interface of AI glasses.

The plan is to expand the AI device ecosystem beyond smartphones and continue cooperation with global AI companies in the future.
