The survey was commissioned to Sapio Research, a UK market research firm, and was conducted in April-May 2026 with a total of 4,200 respondents across nine markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Brazil.
74% of respondents in the Asia-Pacific region answered that they use AI at least once a day.
However, 61% stated they do not want AI to execute tasks independently.
55% of respondents directly verified results generated by AI before utilization, and it was found that they spend an average of two hours per week doing so.
TeamViewer defined this phenomenon as the "AI Confidence Gap".
99% of IT leaders in the Asia-Pacific region showed a positive stance toward delegating at least one task to AI.
However, 66% answered that they can accept autonomous operations only when an environment is in place where they can intervene if necessary.
Conditions for accepting AI autonomous execution were listed in the following order: △strong security and personal information protection (41%) △restricted AI access scope (35%) △advance notification before major changes (33%) △disclosure of activity logs (31%) △rollback functionality (30%).
IT leaders in the Asia-Pacific region predict that 42% of digital workplace services will operate autonomously by 2030.
Only 3% of respondents anticipated that their job would disappear by 2030.
Oliver Steil, TeamViewer CEO, stated, "Success does not come from granting unlimited authority to AI, but from having a system that operates safely, transparently, and responsibly within clearly defined safeguards. Trustworthy autonomy, rather than reckless automation, will drive next-generation productivity."
