Korea will hold the event on Friday, December 4th at the COEX Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul.

Nordic Semiconductor, a ULP (Ultra Low Power) specialist, has announced the launch of its 2nd Global Tech Tour.

Following the first nRF51 series training, the Global Tech Tour will also feature a seminar where nRF52 series designers will meet directly with engineers to demonstrate how to implement Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ applications.

The primary objective is to train participants to handle and operate the nRF52 Series SoC. They will be able to implement basic ULP wireless connectivity applications as well as power-efficient Bluetooth Smart applications.

The Global Tech Tour training sessions will utilize Nordic's nRF52 Series Software Development Kit (SDK), which includes example code for Bluetooth Smart applications.

The nRF52 Series SoCs feature a 64MHz ARM® Cortex®-M4F processor with 512kB Flash, 64kB RAM, multiprotocol Bluetooth Smart, ANT, a 2.4GHz radio with -96dB RX sensitivity and 5.5mARX/TX peak current, and an on-chip RF balun. Additionally, this SoC is the only SoC to feature an on-chip NFC™ (Near Field Communication) tag for consumer-friendly Touch-to-Pair, providing design flexibility.

Target applications include the Internet of Things (IoT), wearables, wireless charging, beacons, sports and fitness sensors, remote-controlled toys, and building automation.

Friday, December 4th will feature an introduction to the nRF52 series SoCs, power management, standard and advanced peripherals, NFC, and solutions to support the IoT market.

Additionally, the training session will dissect a Bluetooth Smart application in detail to demonstrate how to best utilize the power management system to achieve optimal power consumption, and will show how to use and configure the S132 Bluetooth Smart SoftDevice.

The S132 SoftDevice is Nordic's Bluetooth Smart RF protocol software (stack), compatible with Bluetooth v4.2, and supports Central, Peripheral, Broadcaster, and Observer roles simultaneously. This session will also demonstrate implementation and configuration of the ANT S212 SoftDevice and the Bluetooth Smart/ANT S332 SoftDevice combination using the nRF52 Series SoC.
