Wacom Launches Domestic Sales of its Smart Folio "Bamboo Spark"

Wacom Korea (CEO Seo Seok-geon) announced the official launch of its first product line, the smart folio "Bamboo Spark." Bamboo Spark will be available simultaneously through Wacom Korea's online shopping mall (https://store.wacom.kr) and Wacom specialty stores.

The Bamboo Spark is a smart folio for handwritten note-taking. Combining an analog ballpoint pen with digital inking technology, it offers the most convenient way to save and edit handwritten notes and drawings. The Bamboo Spark combines the traditional feel of a ballpoint pen with Wacom's core digital inking technology, creating a smart folio.

To use, simply handwrite or sketch with the Bamboo Spark ballpoint pen on any plain paper up to A5 size (48 x 210 mm, 5.83 x 8.27 inches). The EMR (electromagnetic resonance) board of the Smart Folio, where paper is placed, recognizes the Bamboo Spark ballpoint pen, converting sketches and written notes directly into digital files, which are then saved as digital files in the Bamboo Spark app.

It can be used in various ways as a new concept smart note.

Handwritten notes and sketches can be edited using the Bamboo Spark app or Bamboo Paper, and can be transferred to Evernote, Dropbox, and other services. They can also be synced with the Wacom Cloud service. Bamboo Spark comes in three models: a storage pocket, a tablet sleeve, and a cover specifically for the iPad Air 2, priced at 209,000 won (recommended retail price).

Seong Sang-hee, head of Wacom Korea, said, “The Smart Folio is a new product line from Wacom, and it is a new product from Wacom that has been well-received in the US and European markets, so domestic customers must have been waiting for it a lot.” He added, “The Bamboo Spark is a new concept smart note that provides a smart way to save and edit analog sensibilities, and can be used for various purposes such as meetings, lectures, memos, hand drawings, and sketches.”
