Demonstrating the excellent technological capabilities of GiGA IoT Alliance partners and seeking global expansion
Providing opportunities for investment and business partnerships with domestic IoT small and medium-sized enterprises

KT (Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu) announced that it held the 'IoT Showcase with KT (Subtitle: 2nd GiGA IoT Alliance Makers Day)' with the theme of IoT in the industrial sector at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center located in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, together with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

At the event, products and services from nine IoT-related SMEs were exhibited, selected through a fair screening process from among companies recommended by the IoT Innovation Center of the GiGA IoT Alliance and KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency), providing promising domestic IoT SMEs with opportunities to build partnerships such as investments and business alliances.

The nine companies selected for this exhibition are as follows. Telefield presented a smart integrated terminal for taxis that combines navigation, card payment functions, and meters; LDT presented an early fire detection monitoring system that quickly detects the source of a fire and reports its exact location to enable initial suppression; KMS presented an industrial IoT fire extinguishing gas monitoring system that allows users to check the fire monitoring status with a smartphone app; and Digiwork presented a service that allows users to verify authenticity and check additional information through product scanning.

In the seminar held concurrently, in addition to KT's strategy to promote the activation of the IoT ecosystem, the achievements of GiGA IoT Alliance partner companies that have promoted global expansion with KT, such as Kabi (driver assistance system), Stradvision (image recognition/detection), and JC Square (smart heating) were presented.

“With the support of the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and the KT GiGA IoT Alliance, we have received a lot of interest by introducing our technology to China and Japan, and we are currently discussing strategic investment and joint venture with KT,” said Eunsoo Lee, CEO of Kaby. “I hope that there will be more programs like the KT GiGA IoT Alliance where large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises can coexist.”

KT GiGA IoT Business Unit Director Song Hee-kyung said, “This event was planned so that small and medium-sized enterprises belonging to the KT GiGA IoT Alliance can have various business partnerships and global expansion opportunities,” and “We plan to actively expand the global IoT ecosystem led by KT together with our member companies in the future.”

Meanwhile, KT held the '1st GiGA IoT Alliance Makers Day' on September 17 to activate the creative economy and IoT ecosystem, and this time, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, it held the 'KT and Makers Day' We have expanded the plan to include the 'GiGA IoT Showcase'. We plan to continue the 'GiGA IoT Alliance Makers Day' to foster the IoT ecosystem in the future.
