First among global distributors to add to product line cards

Mouser Electronics (www.mouser.com) has become the first global distributor to start selling Infineon's TRENCHSTOP™ 5 S5 Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT).

This new ultra-thin wafer TRENCHSTOP 5 series product family is a unique product featuring a low saturation voltage of 1.60 VCE(sat) at 175 degrees Celsius (the voltage at which the transistor is saturated and no longer produces a linear output) and maintains high efficiency even during operation at high temperatures.

Infineon’s TRENCHSTOP 5 S5 IGBT, available at Mouser Electronics, reduces circuit complexity through enhanced switching behavior and eliminates the need for capacitors and Zener diodes, thereby reducing overall system costs.

The IGBT provides an energy production yield of up to 98% from solar cell installations and offers improved robustness and stable quality compared to existing products, extending the system's operating life to up to 20 years. This product is sold through Mouser in 30A, 40A, 50A, and 75A versions in a TO-247 3-pin package.

The S5 product family was specifically developed for AC-DC energy conversion in industrial applications switching from 10 kHz to 40 kHz, such as photovoltaic inverters or UPSs. It offers the advantages of increasing system efficiency, enabling rapid time-to-market, and optimizing PCB BOM costs.
