A Samsung Electronics model is introducing a game service playable on a Samsung SUHD TV at 'G-Star 2015'.

Samsung Electronics will unveil the 2016 Samsung Smart TV, which will set a new standard for Internet of Things (IoT)-based TVs, for the first time at CES 2016, the world's largest consumer electronics exhibition.

This is the first time Samsung Electronics is equipping its entire 2016 smart TV lineup with an IoT platform developed in collaboration with SmartThings, and plans to introduce a new TV-centric smart home.

Samsung Smart TVs, which also won the 2016 CES Innovation Award, significantly expand usability to include other IoT devices. In particular, all 2016 SUHD TV models feature a built-in 'Smart Home Hub' that can monitor and control IoT devices. Consumers can connect and use over 200 digital devices compatible with SmartThings, including Samsung Electronics home appliances, security cameras, locks, and light switches, without the need for a separate external IoT hub.

The SmartThings apps installed on smartphones and TVs are interconnected, allowing you to freely control smart home devices by switching between the two. For example, connecting a Samsung Smart TV to an IP camera or motion sensor enables the 'Security & Monitoring' function, which displays the view outside the front door via an external camera or detects and notifies you of intrusions from the outside using sensors attached to windows.

You can watch your child sleeping in their room in real time while watching TV in the living room, and you can check the situation inside the house from outside via the smart TV or control other smart home devices, including the TV, lighting, and audio equipment.
In addition, when connected to lighting or AV equipment, the 'Cinema Mode' feature is available, which creates an optimal viewing environment by automatically dimming the lights or adjusting the TV screen and sound to be optimized for movie viewing through simple operation.

In addition, it can be linked with various smart devices that support IoT, allowing users to directly configure and connect various operation modes in their preferred style.

Samsung Electronics Visual Display Business President Kim Hyun-suk stated, “The 2016 Samsung Smart TV is the first IoT-ready TV,” adding, “An infinite smart home world will unfold centered around the Samsung Smart TV.”
