Cognex Unveils Compact Smart Camera with PC-Level Performance

Cognex Korea Cognex (www.cognex.co.kr), a global leader in the field of machine vision, has launched the In-Sight® Micro 8000 Series smart camera, a new family of ultra-compact, standalone vision systems.
The In-Sight Micro 8000 series is similar in size to existing simple GigE Vision® cameras but provides industry-leading vision tool performance at PC-level speeds.
"As line speeds increase, manufacturers are requiring vision tools with exceptional accuracy, wide fields of view, and high performance that do not require PCs at all on the production floor," said Joerg Kuechen, Vice President and General Manager of the Vision Products Business Unit at Cognex.
“The ultra-compact, fully self-contained In-Sight Micro 8000 Series smart cameras combine high frame rates with PatMax RedLine™ pattern matching technology that dramatically improves speed, enabling customers to optimize resolution, speed, and performance even on the fastest production lines,” the company stated.
He also added, “Through these benefits, customers can shorten cycle times and improve productivity, as well as increase resolution without loss of throughput and perform additional inspections without extending cycle times.”
All In-Sight Vision Like the system, the newly announced model can also be conveniently configured via the powerful In-Sight Explorer software. This software features excellent functionality and flexibility in a spreadsheet view for more effective control, along with EasyBuilder®, which guides you through the setup step-by-step. The In-Sight Micro 8000 Series can run PatMax RedLine technology and industry-proven In-Sight vision tools at the same level as running them on a high-performance PC.
The In-Sight Micro 8000 series measures only 31mm x 31mm x 63mm and features built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE), which not only minimizes wiring but also makes it easy to integrate into confined spaces on robots or hard-to-reach equipment. This product is suitable for almost any production line requiring guidance, inspection, measurement, and industrial ID applications.
