Signed MOU for joint development of KT-Kabi system and product launch

KT announced that it will unveil next-generation smart car technology together with Samsung Electronics and Kabi at the world's largest consumer electronics show, 'CES 2016'.
The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center will demonstrate the 'Intelligent Safe Driving Support Solution' from Kabi, a vehicle ADAS specialist company produced by the olleh GiGA IoT Alliance (see attached materials below) and whose commercialization has been a key focus.

It was announced that the intelligent safe driving support solution, developed based on the cooperation of three companies—KT, Samsung Electronics, and Kabi—captures information on road conditions and surrounding vehicles using a camera, analyzes the data through an intelligent IoT platform, and provides real-time information on dangerous situations.

Samsung Electronics' 'ARTIK™' provides image information processing and data security functions.

Samsung Electronics’ IoT hardware and software platform, ARTIK™, provides video information processing and enhanced data security features, while Kabi offers core ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technologies that recognize and track lanes and vehicles, and analyzes driving habits by linking the ADAS engine with KT’s IoT software platform, GiGA IoTMakers.

Kabi is a company produced through the K-Champ incubation program at the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center, and is pursuing joint commercialization and global expansion in conjunction with KT's resources and capabilities. In fact, Kabi received high interest after introducing its technology to China and Japan with the support of the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center and the olleh GiGA IoT Alliance, and through this demonstration, it has been able to pursue entry into global markets such as the United States.

In addition, KT and Kabi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation in Las Vegas, USA on the 6th (5th local time), including joint commercialization of ADAS products, joint development of ADAS solutions, entry into domestic and overseas markets, and joint marketing to revitalize the vehicle ADAS business.
