To celebrate Giga Internet reaching 1.1 million subscribers, an e-sports competition will be held.

KT announced that it will hold the 'GiGA Legend Match', an e-sports competition using Giga Internet, at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 20th to commemorate the 1.1 million customers it has reached on January 23rd, following the 1 million customers it has reached at the end of last year.
The GiGA Legend Match is a competition designed to allow 1.1 million people in Korea to directly and indirectly experience the fast speed of KT Giga Internet through an unprecedented match between the four kings of StarCraft®, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.'s real-time strategy game (RTS), Hong Jin-ho, Guillaume, Lim Yo-hwan, and Lee Yun-yeol.
In this tournament-style match, Hong Jin-ho, Guillaume, Lim Yo-hwan, and Lee Yun-yeol will compete to determine the Four Heavenly Kings Champion under the Legend Match title.

Amidst the anticipation of a heated battle between former stars, special matches featuring current players are also expected.KT Rolster, a professional gaming team, will hold a special StarCraft II tournament to cheer on their seniors and provide special entertainment for fans.
Meanwhile, on the day of the event, there will be a variety of things to see and enjoy, including a stage by girl group 'GFriend' and a debut stage by rookie idol group 'Cosmic Girls', a congratulatory performance, and a special gift event.
Tickets for the event can be applied for from February 3rd to 14th through the Olleh.com event page (http://promotion.olleh.com/gigalegend/index..asp), and a total of 4,000 tickets will be sent out via text message on the 17th (scheduled) through a lottery.
For fans who cannot attend the tournament, the tournament will be live streamed on YouTube's OGN Plus channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/ognplus) and Naver e-Sports channel (http://sports.news.naver.com/sports/index.nhn?category=e_sports), and will be recorded and broadcast on the ONG channel at 12 PM on March 5th.
KT continues its Giga Sports marketing campaign, targeting the younger generation who enjoy the high speeds of Giga Internet. Following the "GiGA Drone Racing" competition in December of last year, where drones competed for speed, the "GiGA 1 Million Basketball Court" event in January attracted significant attention.
Shin Hye-sung, executive director of IMC in KT’s marketing division, said, “We planned this competition so that customers can experience KT’s Giga Internet service, which is optimized for e-Sports, which requires a fast and stable internet environment.” He added, “We will continue to present Giga Sports marketing as a new cultural trend that not only e-Sports but also the 2030 generation in Korea can enjoy.”

KT Establishes 'Giga Office' at Ewha Womans University
KT announced that it has established 'GiGA Office,' Korea's first total ICT solution provided to a university, at Ewha Womans University. 'GiGA Office' is a total ICT solution that connects a KT branch office adjacent to the customer's office via gigabit LAN to provide services necessary for overall ICT operations, including internet access, equipment hosting, security, and integrated management solutions. Since November 2014, it has primarily provided ICT infrastructure to small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, and has been supplying the service to approximately 1,200 companies to date. This is the first instance of GiGA Office being introduced at a university.

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
