VMware announced business mobility and software-defined data center products for mobile cloud environments on the 17th. The press conference began with a presentation by VMware Korea President Jae-sung Yoo, followed by Vice President Gwan-soo Lim and Senior Vice President of Technology Hyo Lee.

The newly announced products include Workspace ONE, an enterprise platform for digital workspaces; Horizon 7 and Horizon Air, desktop and application virtualization solutions; vRealize Suite 7, a hybrid cloud management platform; and Virtual SAN 6.2, a storage virtualization solution. VMware Vice President Lim Gwan-soo (pictured) , who was in charge of the product explanation that day, said, “Workspace ONE is a product that VMware is introducing for the first time, and its strength is that it allows you to easily and safely build a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environment.”

Next, Vice President Lim Gwan-soo said, “Today’s digital work environment requires automated self-service and flexible integration with existing infrastructure through an integrated portal, and requires management and convenience of all work types through a single platform,” and explained that ‘Workspace ONE’ can meet all conditions.

Workspace ONE is a simple and secure enterprise platform that integrates, operates, and manages a variety of applications across all devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. It also integrates identity management capabilities to enable real-time application deployment and enterprise mobility management, reduces data loss, and modernizes existing IT processes for the mobile cloud era.

Workspace ONE features include universal self-service access to cloud, mobile, and Windows-based applications, and direct management and control of devices to foster a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environment. It also includes apps like email, calendar, documents, and social media for employees working from home, enhancing convenience and enhancing security.

Desktop and application virtualization solutions with improved convenience, security, speed, and scalability.

VMware announced VMware Horizon 7 and VMware Horizon Air, desktop virtualization solutions that offer enhanced convenience, security, speed, and scalability, along with Workspace ONE. Users can access Windows-based desktops through VMware Identity Manager's True Single Sign-On feature. Additionally, a new display protocol optimized for mobile cloud supports a variety of devices and ensures performance and flexibility. Accordingly, Lee Hyo, Executive Vice President of Technology, explained, "With support for the latest VMware App Volumes solution, we are reducing storage and operating costs by 70 percent and reducing the time required for image management by up to 95 percent."

At the conclusion of the meeting, when asked about the cloud outlook, CEO Yoo Jae-sung stated that he was aiming for "over 50% annual growth." He added, "The cloud is synonymous with automation. Automobiles, artificial intelligence (AI), and other technologies are ultimately about automation. Therefore, the cloud market is bound to grow."
