Imahara and Mouser, TDK CEO, on future power conversion applications
Conducted an interview regarding the role of power semiconductors and various types of devices.

Mouser Electronics (www.mouser.com) teamed up with world-renowned engineer Grant Imahara to conduct an interview under the theme of Innovation Spotlight, part of the "Empowering Innovation Together" portable power series.

In this interview, Grant had a detailed discussion on the topic of 'energy management and storage' with Jon Nelson, President and CEO of TDK Americas. Nelson explained how TDK Americas and TDK’s group company EPCOS are meeting the latest power management trends by providing electronic components, including the latest materials, that optimize performance, cost, and space for next-generation products and power designs.

In the latest Innovation Spotlight video interview, Grant continued the discussion on energy management and storage while asking for his views on the future of power management and conversion technology regarding the high-frequency magnetic, switching-mode power supplies, inverters, and variable frequency drives that TDK provides to design engineers worldwide.

Grant was able to hear Nelson's views on trends related to energy storage as well as battery management and power conversion applications.

Grant Imahara stated , “Power conversion applications are being applied to many devices in addition to portable and mobile devices. "Design engineers must solve the challenge of power conversion to enable smaller and more efficient devices to operate in a wider variety of environments," he explained, adding, "Increasingly stringent efficiency standards, ranging from low-power wireless charging to high-power applications such as electric vehicle propulsion, require various power semiconductors and passive components provided by manufacturers like TDK."
