SAS Korea and KT Sign MOU for Cloud Business in Public B2B Big Data Market

SAS Korea (CEO Cho Seong-sik) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KT, Korea's largest Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, for cloud business in the big data market targeting public and B2B companies.

Accordingly, the two companies plan to expand their market in the public and B2B sectors based on SAS analytics solutions and KT cloud infrastructure. The two companies plan to collaborate on ▲analysis platforms to promote G-Cloud in public institutions and ▲businesses related to cloud-based business analysis solutions and platforms for the B2B industry.

"Through this agreement, we will be able to support SAS analytics solutions in the public and B2B sectors while reducing the burden of initial investments, such as hardware costs," said Cho Seong-sik, President of SAS Korea. "Based on SAS's industry-specific strengths and experience in analytics solutions, we will help customers find business insights in the cloud."

Lee Moon-hwan, Executive Vice President of KT’s Corporate Business Division, stated, “We will work closely with SAS to help domestic customers optimize their IT environments and enhance business performance through world-class cloud infrastructure and services. Furthermore, we will strengthen cooperation with domestic solution providers in the future to establish a mutually beneficial partnership structure in the domestic ICT market.”

Meanwhile, SAS provides its analytics solutions on cloud infrastructures desired by customers, including private and public cloud environments as well as hybrid IT. In particular, through partnerships with global public cloud vendors, it supports SAS solutions in cloud environments for customers such as Lenovo and FANCL. Based on this MOU with KT, SAS Korea plans to support more customers in Korea through cloud infrastructure.

KT has embarked on comprehensive support for cloud environments for domestic companies, including the recent establishment of Korea's first cloud data center in Los Angeles, USA. It is also taking the lead in fostering a cloud ecosystem through initiatives such as IT cost-saving consulting utilizing cloud-based open source and startup incubation programs.
