KT Unveils 'GiGA IoT GLUE,' a Support System to Easily Develop IoT Devices

KT (Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu) announced on the 11th that it is unveiling 'GiGA IoT GLUE,' a support system that provides essential information needed for development to resolve the helplessness and difficulties that individual creators or small companies face when developing IoT devices.
Previously, for individuals or small businesses to develop IoT devices, they had to use unnecessarily high-spec hardware and SDKs (Software Development Kits), and manually find ways to connect sensors or actuator modules.
However, with the release of KT GiGA IoT GLUE, small and medium-sized manufacturers and developers can now easily and quickly produce IoT prototypes with the required performance by utilizing a lightweight SDK applicable even to low-spec open-source hardware, 371 types of pre-written sensor operation source code, tutorial documents, and purchasing information.
Last year, KT solidified its foundation for a platform-centric IoT business through IoTMakers, an open IoT platform, and the GiGA IoT Alliance, an open IoT business cooperation framework. In March of this year, it completed the nationwide rollout of LTE-M, enabling IoT servicesAn efficient network has been established. Furthermore, through the unveiling of GiGA IoT GLUE, the company aims to strengthen the IoT ecosystem by expanding participation to include not only one-person businesses and startups but also the general public.
"By utilizing the newly unveiled GiGA IoT GLUE and IoTMakers together, KT partners will see a dramatic reduction in the cost and time required to produce IoT prototypes," said Lee Dong-myeon, Director of KT's Convergence Technology Institute. "This support from KT will revitalize the domestic IoT industry, leading to the emergence of more IoT services that make people's lives more convenient."
