Intel Delivers Ultimate Immersive Gaming Experience at 2016 PlayX4 Expo

Intel Korea (President Kwon Myung-suk) will participate in the 2016 PlayX4 (PlayX4), an international gaming exhibition held for four days from May 19-22 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, to provide domestic gamers with newer and more immersive gaming experiences.
Intel Korea is participating in this event to create opportunities for active engagement with domestic gamers ahead of the December hosting of Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), an international gaming competition, in Goyang. Intel will operate four experience zones at the Intel booth, providing participants with opportunities to directly experience the latest games that implement stunning visuals and immersive experiences on Intel-based systems.
First, the Gaming Experience Zone will feature a play station where visitors can directly play Nexon's 'Sudden Attack 2', which successfully completed a private beta test in April, on the latest notebook based on 6th generation Intel Core processors. The Leaderboard Game Zone will demonstrate new games that implement optimal graphics across various Intel-based notebook lineups, while the Virtual Reality Zone will provide VR game demo play opportunities utilizing Intel's RealSense camera, a 3D depth sensing technology, and the latest VR devices. Meanwhile, eight companies including Samsung and LG, as well as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI, will display their notebooks based on 6th generation Intel Core processors at the Intel exhibition area.
A promotional pavilion commemorating the December hosting of IEM in Gyeonggi-do will also be operated. IEM is an international esports competition sponsored by Intel and hosted by Germany's ESL (Electronic Sports League), the world's largest esports company. Beginning in 2006, it is currently in its 11th season. Intel and Gyeonggi-do agreed to the 'IEM Gyeonggi-do Hosting Agreement' in April to host the 2016 IEM World Championship in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do.
Additionally, in commemoration of this event, Intel Korea will conduct a 'Gaming Notebook Mega Sale' in partnership with Auction, a promotional campaign for Intel-based gaming notebook sales running through May 29. Online price discount events will be held for notebooks from a total of six PC manufacturers including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI, while offline event participants will receive additional promotional benefits including 40,000 won duplicate discount coupons and 3,000 won Nexon Cash vouchers.

Intel Leads Cloud Transition with Enterprise Microprocessors
Intel announced on the 6th through a product presentation that it will introduce various new technologies, investment plans, and industry collaborations for cloud services with superior speed and scalability, and will support enterprise customers in building cloud infrastructure more easily, enabling them to launch new services quickly and drive revenue growth. Korean students who distinguished themselves at the Intel International Science Fair
An 18-year-old Canadian boy, Austin Wang, won first place at Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) 2016, sponsored by Intel and the Society for Science & the Public (SSP), for his development of microbial fuel cells (MFC) that convert organic waste into electricity more efficiently. Austin Wang identified specific genes in genetically developed E. coli bacteria and succeeded in generating electricity more efficiently using these genes. The system developed by Austin can produce significantly more power compared to conventional MFC, while being implementable at a price competitive with solar energy, thereby establishing the foundation for MFC to achieve commercial success. Austin Wang received the Gordon E. Moore Award, the top prize of the competition, and a prize of $75,000.
