KT DS (CEO Kim Ki-chul) announced that it held a free seminar on "Open Source Software License Issues" for startups and venture companies in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.

This seminar was organized to help prevent copyright infringement for startups and venture companies, which are relatively vulnerable to intellectual property management issues, by conveying knowledge regarding licenses that require caution when using open source software.

While open-source software makes its source code public and allows for modification and redistribution, this does not imply unlimited or indiscriminate use. If not used legitimately based on a precise understanding of the license, companies and developers may face lawsuits. Furthermore, the 'utilization and management of licenses' is also important in terms of protecting the intellectual property rights of proper users.


Through the seminar, KT DS introduced the types of open source software licenses, notification obligations, and actual corporate management cases, and after the seminar, provided customized training to participating companies for proper usage.

The 'Free Seminar for Startups and Venture Companies,' held at the training room on the 2nd floor of the KT DS Bangbae building, is scheduled to be held in July, September, and November as well, and you can participate after applying through the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center website.

Meanwhile, KT DS is participating in the 'K-Champ' initiative, which KT is promoting with the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center to foster startups and venture companies, by providing IT technical support, and is operating support programs such as customized IT education and consulting, one-on-one dedicated mentoring, and joint business cooperation.
