Fitness-optimized 'Gear Fit 2' and 'Gear IconX' Unveiled
Equipped with a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display

On the 2nd (local time), Samsung Electronics unveiled the 'Gear Fit 2' and 'Gear IconX', wearable devices optimized for fitness, at its marketing center 'Samsung 837' in New York.

At this event, attended by approximately 1,500 people including media, business partners, and consumers, Samsung Electronics attracted the attention of attendees by showcasing various events that combined DJ performances, fitness experiences, and Samsung Electronics’ new products.

The GPS-equipped sports band 'Gear Fit 2' features a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display, allowing users to intuitively check various fitness information such as distance, heart rate, and exercise time.

Consumers can use various functions, such as linking the data from the 'Gear Fit 2' with the S Health app on a Galaxy smartphone to analyze their exercise status in detail and compare their step count with other users.

The Gear Fit 2 stores music in the device's own storage space, allowing you to comfortably listen to music during workouts without a phone, and easily share workout results via Facebook.

In addition, it supports an "automatic exercise recognition function" that automatically recognizes the type of exercise and records the results without separate operation, not only during walking, running, and cycling, but also when using indoor rowing machines or ellipticals, which involve placing your feet on pedals and moving the handles back and forth.

The Gear Fit 2 features an ergonomic design for excellent comfort, and allows you to check all notifications, such as the time and text messages, immediately, making it suitable to accompany you through every moment of your daily life.

The 'Gear IconX' is a device that allows you to listen to music while recording fitness data, and is characterized by the absence of a connecting cable between the left and right earbuds. Additionally, you can connect it to a phone via Bluetooth or listen to music using only the earbuds by storing music in the 4GB of built-in storage space without a phone.

If you put the 'Gear IconX' in your ears and set up workout mode,You can measure distance, speed, heart rate, exercise time, and calorie consumption, receive real-time voice feedback on measurements via 'Voice Guide,' and after exercising, link with S Health to save and manage exercise records for walking and running.

The 'Gear IconX' allows users to listen to 1,000 songs stored on the device simply by lightly tapping the earbuds or touching them up and down, making it useful not only during workouts but also in daily life. Samsung Electronics provides a convenient portable case for storing and charging the 'Gear IconX,' and offers ear tips and wing tips in three sizes for a comfortable fit.

Lee Young-hee, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Wireless Business Division, said, “We plan to introduce a variety of wearable devices to help consumers pursue a healthy life,” adding, “No matter what kind of exercise you enjoy, the Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX will provide a unique experience and fun tailored to it.”

The 'Gear Fit 2' will be released in black, blue, and pink colors starting June 10 in major countries including North America and Europe, while the 'Gear IconX' will be available in black & m in the third quarter of this yearIt is scheduled to be released in colors such as blue and white.
