LG Electronics Launches 'Action Cam LTE' Capable of Real-Time Personal Internet Broadcasting

On the 19th, LG Electronics launched the 'LG Action Cam LTE,' the first in Korea to feature LTE/3G communication capabilities, through the three major domestic mobile carriers.
'Action Cam LTE' is a new 'Friends' device for the 'G5' that reflects the needs of consumers who want to enjoy various activities, such as action sports, capture them on video, and share them quickly.
This product supports live streaming, allowing recorded footage to be broadcast over the internet in real time. Users can connect their smartphone to the 'Action Cam LTE' via the 'Action Cam LTE Manager' app, and capture photos and videos can be viewed and saved on the smartphone in real time.
LG Electronics plans to add a remote control function to the 'Action Cam LTE' in the future. This remote control feature allows users to control the 'Action Cam LTE' via the internet, even if the smartphone and the 'Action Cam LTE' are far apart. For example, if you leave the 'Action Cam LTE' turned on at home when you are out, you can use it like a security CCTV.
This product is equipped with a 150-degree wide-angle, 12.3-megapixel camera module, allowing you to capture wide landscapes in a single frame. Additionally, its lightweight design of 99g and IP67 waterproof rating, which allows it to withstand submersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, make it suitable for outdoor shooting. Thanks to its low-power design, you can record Full HD 30fps (frames per second) video for approximately 3 hours without worrying about battery life.
This product can be used not only with the 'G5' but also with other smartphones running Android OS 5.0 or iOS 9 or higher. The retail price of the 'Action Cam LTE' is 399,300 won. Users can subscribe to a dedicated 'Action Cam LTE' rate plan prepared separately by each mobile carrier.
LG Electronics President and Head of the Mobile Communications Business Division, Cho Jun-ho, emphasized, “The production and consumption trends of video content are changing, centered on mobile technology,” adding, “We will continue user-centric technological innovation so that consumers can enjoy diverse cultures more easily and enjoyably.”
