KT Expands IoT-Based Healthcare Services to Store 'Blood Test Results'
Published2016.08.16 07:40KT and mobile healthcare startup BBB (www.bbbtech.com) announced that they signed a business agreement at the BBB building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to provide chronic disease management services utilizing mobile in vitro diagnostic devices.
The main contents of this business agreement include the joint development of healthcare services utilizing mobile in vitro diagnostic devices, and marketing activities and technical consulting for the mobile in vitro diagnostic device, elemark.
Elimark, a mobile in vitro diagnostic device, automatically stores and manages blood test results on the device and server via a wireless network (LTE). It provides continuous self-monitoring and management services for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome, and plans to expand its diagnostic capabilities for infectious diseases in the future to enable immediate on-site diagnosis at medical institutions.
"KT has entered the medical IoT field with 'Yodoc m,' a portable smart urine tester," said So Myeong, Head of KT's Convergence IoT Business Team. "We plan to explore various business models with medical partners and expand our service platform to enable early diagnosis and preventive management of diseases in the future."
