Launch of Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor with Fast Response Speed

Samsung Electronics launched two curved gaming monitors, the CFG70 (C24FG70 and C27FG70), featuring Quantum Dot technology on the 17th.
The newly released Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor incorporates the same Quantum Dot display technology found in Samsung SUHD TVs. It supports rich colors by expressing 125% of the sRGB color gamut (based on CIE1931) and displays details even in dark scenes with a contrast ratio of 3000:1.
In addition, to leverage the advantages of quantum dot display technology and enable more accurate color representation, each product is thoroughly calibrated during the manufacturing process before shipment.
The Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor is the first curved gaming monitor to support a fast response time of 1ms (MPRT) and a high refresh rate of 144Hz, allowing users to enjoy smooth, vivid, high-definition visuals without ghosting or image tearing, even in fast-paced games.
It provides an optimal environment for gamers with features such as AMD FreeSync technology, which delivers smooth visuals, and Arena Lighting technology, which responds to game sound.
It features a curved design with an 1800R curvature that wraps around the eyes, reducing eye movement and allowing you to see the game screen at a glance, thereby increasing immersion.
The Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor features a dashboard-style OSD (On Screen Display) and an innovative UX specialized for gamers, and in late September, it won the Japan Good Design Award, receiving praise for providing a gaming environment optimized for gamers.
In addition, it features various game modes suitable for game genres such as FPS, RTS, RPG, AOS, and Custom, allowing for customization without the need for a keyboard or mouse.
"We have launched a specialized curved gaming monitor equipped with Quantum Dot display technology that guarantees the best image quality and top-tier specifications," said Kim Seok-ki, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business Division. "We will provide a whole new level of experience to customers who enjoy gaming."
The launch prices for Samsung Electronics’ new Quantum Dot curved gaming monitors are 450,000 won for the C24FG70 model and 600,000 won for the C27FG70 model.

Patent applications for improving LCD color reproducibility using quantum dots are actively being filed.
LCD showed relatively lower color reproduction compared to OLED, but patent applications aimed at improving LCD's color reproduction using quantum dots have been increasingly active recently. According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (Commissioner Choi Dong-gyu), domestic patent applications (based on filing date) applying quantum dots to LCD are being analyzed as steadily increasing. Quantum dot-related patent applications (based on filing date) totaled 268 cases over the past 10 years (2006-2015), with filing volumes surging in 2014 (63 cases) and 2015 (84 cases), accounting for 54.8% (147 cases) of the total filings over the past 10 years.
