KES 2016 Opening Ceremony and Keynote to be Live-Broadcast Exclusively

IT news channel e4ds News (e4ds.com) announced that it will exclusively broadcast the opening ceremony and keynote speech of the 2016 Korea Electronics Show (KES), which will be held for four days from the 26th to the 29th, live online.

The 2016 Korea Electronics Show (KES), now in its 47th year, will feature approximately 470 companies from 21 countries, showcasing the convenience brought by electronics and IT technology to our daily lives, as well as a variety of products, designs, and convergence content that will enrich the world.

This online live broadcast, co-hosted by the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Kwon Oh-hyun), which oversees the exhibition, and e4ds News, will allow viewers to simultaneously watch the opening ceremony (10:30 AM) and keynote speech (Opening Keynote 1:30 PM) on the first day of the event on the 26th on the Korea Electronics Show website (www.kes.org) and e4ds News (www.e4ds.com).

In particular, much attention is expected to be paid to the keynote speech that opens the first day of the exhibition. This year's Korea Electronics Show Opening Keynote is expected to be a meaningful opportunity to discuss future strategic technologies in the electric vehicle and IoT fields.

In the electric vehicle session, GM Korea President James Kim will present on "A Future Driven by Partnership and Convergence." Martin Murray, GM's Executive Vice President of Electric Vehicle Development, will present on "Expanding the Chevrolet Electric Vehicle Portfolio," and Lowell Peddock, GM International Vice President of Product Planning and Programs, will speak on topics such as "Sustainability Driven by Automotive Innovation."

Additionally, LG Electronics' VC Business Division President Lee Woo-jong will attend in person and present 'LG Electronics' vision as a key electric vehicle component partner.'

Chevrolet Unveils New Electric Vehicle Technologies

The IoT session will focus on Samsung's renowned IoT platform, ARTIK. James Stansbury, Executive Vice President of ARTIK at Samsung Electronics America, will present on the topic, "Opening a New Future with IoT Technology." In this presentation, James will focus on the ARTIK platform, a differentiated IoT development solution and innovation strategy driving the IoT ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the e4ds live broadcast will feature not only the opening ceremony and keynote speeches, but also major companies and organizations such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.

On the first day, the 26th, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will connect their on-site booths to introduce their products and technologies, and on the second day (the 27th), you can see the vivid scene of Chevrolet automobiles. In addition, companies such as KETI, ETRI, Saenggiwon, LG Innotek, Dongyang Mirae University, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Automobile Alliance, and Smart Venture will be participating, as well as joint companies.

Chevrolet, a global automotive brand, will participate in Asia's leading ICT exhibition for the first time. The company will unveil a slew of innovative technologies that combine electric vehicles and IT, including the Chevrolet Bolt EV, a pure electric vehicle with an industry-leading range of over 380 km on a single charge, powered by cutting-edge, eco-friendly technology.

The Automobile Convergence Alliance Pavilion will showcase a variety of future automobile convergence products, including three vehicles, including the Cony, an electric car based on domestic technology, the research institute's self-driving car (Santa Fe), and a tuned electric car (Sonata).

On the third day (the 28th), the Samsung ARTIK Pavilion will be connected, providing a detailed understanding of ARTIK solutions. Additionally, companies and joint pavilions from the Venture Association, PNI, ERICA, DMC, the University Technology Center, Seongnam Hall, Smart Factory, and Biz Expo will be showcasing their products.

In particular, the ARTIK Hall, jointly organized by KEA and Samsung Electronics, is expected to attract much attention as it will display the results of the 10 teams that advanced to the final round of the "IoT Innovation Challenge," a competition held to discover innovative business models based on the IoT platform. The competition aims to develop products and services applicable to all industrial fields, including smart homes, healthcare, environment/energy, public/safety, finance/industry, and smart cars, utilizing Samsung Electronics' IoT platform ARTIK, and presents a convergence ecosystem model based on the IoT platform.

The “Smart Factory & Biz Expo” pavilion was opened to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing sales channels by utilizing the networks and infrastructure of large corporations. Approximately 180 companies will participate and showcase a variety of products, including finished products, parts, and software.
