Garmin (www.garmin.kr) has released its latest GPS-equipped cycling computer, the Edge 820.

Along with this, Garmin simultaneously launched its accessory product line, including the smart display 'Varia Vision', the action cam 'Verb Ultra 30', and the multisport smartwatch Fenix 3 HR with added heart rate measurement function, building a strong product portfolio that can provide cycling enthusiasts with a perfect riding experience and moving to strengthen its conquest of the domestic market.

The new Edge 820 is lighter and smaller than its predecessor, while boasting a larger, high-resolution 2.3-inch display for improved readability. Notably, it features a capacitive touch display instead of the traditional button-based controls, making operation while riding even more convenient.

In addition to hardware improvements, the device's usability has been further enhanced with the addition of various new features, including a "Group Driving" function. The "Group Driving" function allows you to track the locations of pre-configured friends and colleagues, making group driving more enjoyable and safer. It also has an 'accident detection' function through a built-in accelerometer, which allows you to send your location to a pre-set emergency contact in case of danger, and when linked with the 'Varia' product line, you can enjoy safer driving with rear/mutual detection, etc.

Various measurement functions that help improve cycling ability have become more powerful.

The Edge 820 is compatible with ANT+ power meters, including Vector™, enabling precise measurement of overall riding power, left-right balance, cadence, and more. This allows for detailed data collection and analysis, including where power is applied to the pedals, where it's applied throughout the pedal stroke, and whether left-right pedaling balance and pace are consistent. This data can be used to correct posture and improve performance.

Additionally, by utilizing a heart rate monitor strap, you can check professional data such as maximum aerobic intake (VO2 Max), riding condition, recovery time, and even FTP (Functional Threshold Power, the highest ability that can be maintained for 60 minutes), allowing you to establish a riding plan that suits your riding ability and to improve your ability step by step.

Personalization and convenience features have also been further improved. All data can be automatically transmitted to Garmin Connect via the built-in Wi-Fi, making record management even easier. Additionally, you can connect it to Connect IQ™ to customize settings to suit your individual needs, and check various smart notification functions of your smartphone on the Edge 820 screen via Bluetooth connection.

Battery performance has also been improved, with up to 15 hours of use in GPS training mode and up to 50% more use time in power-saving mode while using all tracking features.

'Varia Vision' is a wearable smart display device that displays various riding information, such as performance data, navigation information, and various smart notification functions, on the user's sunglasses. It provides key riding information in a location that is not out of sight, helping to ensure safe and efficient riding.

The Varia Vision, which can be easily attached to eyeglass frames and weighs only 28g, eliminates any discomfort caused by weight. Various functions and data are presented in an intuitive and easy-to-understand manner, allowing users to focus on their ride anytime, anywhere. Seamless integration with the Garmin Edge line of products allows for up to four key data fields and a vivid, color-coded graphic display, providing performance data like heart rate, speed, and power, as well as detailed navigation features like distance to the turn point.

With a battery life of up to 8 hours, you can ride for long periods of time without any discomfort. It is also waterproof and has a touch panel that allows for easy operation even when wearing gloves, making it even more convenient to use. Additionally, when linked with the Varia rear radar system, it can even provide a warning function for vehicles approaching from behind, helping you ride safely.

Garmin's differentiated action camera, the Verb Ultra 30, boasts best-in-class performance and differentiated data tracking and recording capabilities. Not only can the Verb Ultra 30 shoot 4K UHD video, it also features a high-performance sensor and built-in GPS, automatically collecting G-Matrix data during recording. This allows for differentiated footage that combines action data like speed, altitude, and distance that conventional action cameras cannot capture. It also boasts a host of differentiated, cutting-edge features, including voice control*, an LCD touchscreen, one-touch live streaming, and 3-axis image stabilization.

The Verb Ultra 30 can shoot 4K UHD video at 30 frames per second, slow-motion video at 240 frames per second, and supports 12MP still photography. Its built-in, high-sensitivity microphone captures dynamic sound even with the waterproof case on. The easy-to-use LCD touchscreen also works even with the waterproof case. The Fenix 3 HR is the latest version of the Fenix 3, widely considered the ultimate multisport smartwatch. Featuring Garmin Elevate technology, it adds a heart rate monitor, allowing you to easily check your heart rate on your wrist while wearing the watch. A software upgrade expands the supported activities, including golf and paddleboarding, and enhances performance measurement capabilities. The new software is available as a free download for existing Fenix 3 users.
