Hansung SMB Solution Co., Ltd. (CEO Seok-Joo Kwon) announced the release of QNAP QTS 4.3, a smart NAS operating system upgraded with efficient intelligent automation services, and the start of the official update.
QTS 4.3, the QNAP NAS operating system that has evolved with a simplified user interface and rich applications, is expected to provide a NAS environment with enhanced user convenience, not only increasing business productivity but also improving the home entertainment environment.
Hansung SMB Solutions also announced a launch event for QNAP NAS's new operating system, QTS 4.3, on December 13th at the Woorim Blue Nine Building. The event, which begins at 2:00 PM, is open to anyone interested in QNAP NAS, and all participants will receive a souvenir. Registration for the event can be done through the Hansung SMB website. Key topics related to QNAP NAS, including feature demonstrations, will be covered concurrently with the event.
A key feature of the newly updated QTS 4.3 is the automatic tiering feature, which helps continuously optimize storage efficiency across drives with the application of intelligent Qtier 2.0 technology.
Qtier 2.0 tracks NAS usage, analyzes system performance and peak usage times, and automatically determines automatic tiering schedules and optimal transfer speeds. This upgrade to an AI-powered NAS with automated capabilities that go beyond mere convenience is expected to further enhance user experience.
The user interface has also become more convenient. The interface implemented in QTS 4.3 is optimized for multimedia environments. Beyond exFAT support, Photo Station, Music Station, and Video Station now offer integrated management and control of a series of processes, including smart playback, data downloading, and tagging. Download Station, in particular, offers an integrated BT search engine and supports third-party plug-ins for multi-zone multimedia control, a key feature of this update.
The QNAP NAS's usability is expected to expand further. QNAP announced updates to provide apps and utilities designed to boost corporate productivity. These services can be controlled through the QTS App Center, and Qmail Agent allows centralized management of multiple email accounts when using the QNAP NAS as a mail server. While previous versions offered convenient centralized contact list management through Qcontactz, the new version integrates with QmailAgent for improved intuitiveness.
In addition, QButton allows users to customize button actions for remote control of QNAP NAS, and Qsync features a new team folder structure and significantly improved stability and synchronization speed. Furthermore, QTS 4.3 provides users with a redesigned resource monitoring app, with useful graphs and additional metrics to provide enhanced resource usage analysis and management capabilities.
Finally, QTS 4.3 supports a variety of features. It supports data transfer between VMs and containers through the improved Network & Virtual Switch, and supports backup functions via the latest macOS Sierra for the SMB network file sharing protocol. In the file section, Qfilling automatically organizes files efficiently, and File Station adds remote connections to directly browse and transfer files between QNAP NAS and public cloud services.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM.
