Enhanced color accuracy and reproducibility with proprietary 'Nano Cell' technology

LG Electronics will unveil its third-generation "Super Ultra HD TV" for the first time at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, USA. This new product features LG's proprietary "Nano Cell" technology, which utilizes microscopic molecular structures just 1 nanometer in size, to enhance color accuracy and reproducibility.

A company official said that the Super Ultra HD TV (representative model: SJ9500 series) that uses 'Nano Cell' has the advantage of a viewing angle that does not distort colors even when viewed from a 60˚ angle, and that because it absorbs light coming into the LCD from the outside, the amount of light reflected on the screen has been reduced by more than 30% compared to existing products.

The "Super Ultra HD TV" also boasts flawless playback of various HDR (High Dynamic Range) video formats. HDR is a technology that darkens dark areas and brightens bright areas, resulting in a clear and vivid picture. By emphasizing the bright and dark areas, the resulting three-dimensional and detailed imagery enhances the sense of realism. Additionally, a more precise color correction algorithm has been applied that increases the color correction standard range by 6 times compared to the previous model, allowing for a richer and more natural screen with over 1 billion colors that can be expressed.

It's equipped with webOS, making smart features even easier and more enjoyable to use. New features added to webOS include the "My Button" feature, which lets you use the Magic Remote's number buttons like speed dials; the "Magic Link" feature, which makes it easier to find information about the program you're watching; and the "Magic Zoom Recording" feature, which lets you zoom in and record a specific portion of a video stored on a USB or external hard drive.
