Minimalist design, separated into a sound system excluding the screen

LG Electronics unveiled the 2017 'LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W' and 'Ultra OLED TV' at CES. The Ultra OLED TV consists of 10 models across 5 series (77/65W7, 77/65G7, 65/55E7, 65/55C7, 65/55B7).

The Signature OLED TV W is a premium product that encompasses the full range of LG's display technologies. Unnecessary elements other than the screen have been eliminated, and picture and sound capabilities have been enhanced.

The Signature OLED TV W, unveiled in 77-inch and 65-inch models, is a wall-mounted type. The W7 series has a panel thickness of 2.57mm, which is about 4mm even including the stand. All components except the TV screen have been separated into a sound system and installed at the bottom of the TV. It is equipped with 4.2-channel speakers and features two up-firing speakers that emit sound towards the ceiling, creating three-dimensional sound.

The 2017 Ultra OLED TV incorporates Technicolor's color technology to enhance color reproduction and accuracy, and supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby's advanced surround sound system. Dolby Atmos creates the illusion that sound is coming from in front of, behind, or above the user, depending on the movement and position of objects on the screen. Another feature is its ability to render HDR video in various standards, such as Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and HLG, with sharp picture quality. By supporting HDR effects, it provides content for both HDR and standard content.
