SK Telecom Partners with Nokia for Quantum Cryptography at MWC
Published2017.02.27 10:16SK Telecom signed a business cooperation agreement with Nokia for quantum cryptography at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017) held in Barcelona, Spain on the 27th. Quantum cryptography is a communication security system that utilizes encryption technology based on quanta, which are units smaller than molecules.
Through this agreement, SK Telecom and Nokia have agreed to jointly develop a quantum transmission system based on SK Telecom’s quantum cryptography technology by the second half of this year and commercialize it by integrating it into Nokia’s next-generation optical transmission equipment.
On this day, SK Telecom demonstrated a 'Quantum Transmission System' at 'MWC 2017' that combined its own quantum cryptography technology with Nokia's network technology.
Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri stated, “We will rapidly respond to the demands of the cybersecurity market with SK Telecom’s quantum communication technology.”
In addition, SK Telecom signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation with Deutsche Telekom of Europe to promote the establishment of a global ecosystem based on SK Telecom's quantum communication technology.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
