Oracle Korea Signs MOU with Seoul Women's University for Software Talent Development
Published2017.04.17 14:33Oracle Korea and Seoul Women's University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 13 at the Barom Character Education Center of Seoul Women's University to build an advanced digital campus and foster software talent.
Oracle and Seoul Women's University have agreed to actively cooperate to help the university become a cutting-edge digital campus using Oracle's technology and services. Both parties plan to expand areas of cooperation by carrying out various industry-academia collaborations and exchange activities aimed at joint research and the development of IT education infrastructure.
To this end, Oracle plans to provide IT education-related information free of charge to professors and students at Seoul Women's University through the Oracle Academy program, and to foster software talent among IT majors and non-majors by actively utilizing the curriculum and programs of the Oracle Academy.
Jeon Hye-jeong, President of Seoul Women's University, stated, "Seoul Women's University is taking the lead in building a next-generation education system, having been selected as a software-focused university and a university specializing in information security." She added, "Through this agreement, we expect to realize a cutting-edge digital campus and provide students with more professional and practical IT education courses."
Meanwhile, Oracle Korea has been strengthening industry-academia collaboration across various IT sectors, including e-business applications, databases, and application servers, and continues to actively support talent development at numerous schools.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation.
