Siemens strengthens cooperation with Tata Consultancy to supply plant solutions
Published2017.04.24 14:43Siemens PLM Software announced that it is expanding its partnership with Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest IT service provider, to provide a set of plant solutions for the implementation of a connected digital enterprise.
In this collaboration, Tata Consultancy Services has decided to supply Siemens' entire Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) software portfolio. This enables the full range of Siemens software and services to be showcased at Tata Consultancy Services' newly established Plant Solutions Center of Excellence in Pune, India.
Based on a wide range of solutions, this facility is utilized to support technology verification and to demonstrate how enterprise-wide digitalization is transforming the global manufacturing industry. The facility was established to provide a unique environment where customers can build and test digital solutions using best-in-class PLM and MOM software technologies.
Tata Consultancy Services plans to join the Siemens MOM Expertise Alliance Center (MEAC). The MEAC is a community of highly skilled strategic partners that provides MOM-related services to manufacturing companies. This will further strengthen Tata Consultancy Services' ability to provide high-performance MOM solutions that help current and future customers improve their manufacturing processes. Tata Consultancy Services provides expert consulting, project implementation, and execution services for various Siemens MOM software solutions, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Rene Wolf, Senior Vice President of MOM at Siemens PLM Software, stated, "Tata Consultancy Services was the first partner to adopt Siemens' entire MOM portfolio and has been serving our joint clients. Through this collaboration in the MOM sector, Tata Consultancy Services and Siemens have been able to further strengthen our capabilities to support manufacturing companies in realizing the full value of the digital enterprise, ranging from product design and production planning to production engineering, production execution, and service. We believe that Tata Consultancy Services' plant solutions, utilizing the entire Siemens MOM software portfolio, will bring about a new transformation in our customers' manufacturing operations."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
