Siemens has announced plans for a new online collaboration platform to bring on-demand product design and 3D printing production to the global manufacturing industry. This initiative is part of Siemens' overall vision to provide the industry's broadest range of tools to support the global additive manufacturing industry.
Developed by Siemens' Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software division, the new component manufacturing platform connects all members of the global manufacturing community, maximizing resource utilization. It also increases access to additive manufacturing expertise and expands business opportunities.
“Siemens is one of the only companies that can address the diverse needs of all participants in the additive manufacturing market – from designers and engineers to manufacturers, 3D printing OEMs, material suppliers and software providers – with a comprehensive suite of technology solutions for industrial additive manufacturing and collaborative innovation,” said Tony Hemmelgarn, president and CEO of Siemens PLM Software. “The collaborative platform we are announcing today aims to instantly connect the people, technologies, equipment, and expertise needed to efficiently address mutual business opportunities, further strengthening Siemens’ industry leadership in additive manufacturing,” he said.
The platform builds an online ecosystem of exceptional members from diverse sectors, including product designers, job shops (on-demand manufacturing), parts buyers, 3D printer OEMs, material suppliers, professional service providers, and microfactories. Members can instantly connect with one another and begin collaborative product innovations using the latest additive manufacturing software tools.

Siemens strengthens cooperation with Tata Consultancy to supply plant solutions
Siemens PLM Software announced an expansion of its partnership with Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest IT services company, to provide a comprehensive plant solutions portfolio for implementing connected digital enterprises. Tata Consultancy Services will now supply the complete Siemens Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) software portfolio as part of this collaboration. This enables the newly established Plant Solutions Center of Excellence operated by Tata Consultancy Services in Pune, India to showcase Siemens' entire software and services offerings. The facility is utilized to support technology validation work based on a comprehensive solution portfolio and to demonstrate how enterprise-wide digitalization is transforming the global manufacturing industry. The facility's purpose is to provide customers with a unique environment where they can build and test digital solutions by leveraging best-in-class PLM and MOM software technologies. Tata Consultancy Services will participate in the Siemens MOM Expertise Alliance Center (MEAC). The MEAC is a community of strategically aligned partners with highly skilled capabilities that provide MOM-related services to manufacturing enterprises. Through this participation, Tata Consultancy Services further strengthens its capability to deliver high-performance MOM solutions that help current and prospective customers improve their manufacturing processes. Tata Consultancy Services provides specialized consulting, project implementation, and execution services for various Siemens MOM software solutions, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
