Cuckoo Electronics has a 75% share of the domestic rice cooker market. LG U+ and Cuckoo Electronics will release IoT rice cookers and IoT air purifiers starting on the 26th, and IoT water purifiers are scheduled to be released in July. If it is a WiFi environment, it can be used in conjunction with the IoT@home app, the LG U+ home IoT platform.


In the case of IoT rice cookers, customers can save energy by turning off the rice cooker or switching it to energy-saving mode through an app when they leave the house with the rice cooker turned on. It also notifies them when it is time to replace the rice cooker’s packing and inner pot, and provides app push notifications when the rice is in warming mode for more than 10 hours, which may cause the moisture in the rice to evaporate.

In addition, IoT air purifiers can receive real-time air quality notifications through an app and remotely operate the air purifier from outside. They also analyze customers’ air purifier usage patterns based on big data and inform them of the appropriate time to replace the filter.

LG U+ plans to implement a smart home by introducing IoT rice cookers, IoT air purifiers, and IoT water purifiers and interconnecting them with 36 existing IoT devices, including gas locks, switches, plugs, and door opening alarms.
