SKT to Integrate ICT Technology into Rental Housing

SK Telecom announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HN Housing Rental Management, a comprehensive real estate management company, and HN Serve, a rental management company, to establish advanced ICT-based convenience facilities and services in private-sector rental housing (KEB Hana Stay).
Rental housing equipped with advanced ICT services will reach a scale of approximately 10,000 units (based on commencement of construction) by 2020, starting with the completion of KEB Hana Stay rental housing currently under construction in Pojeong and Daemyeong-dong, Daegu, and Gwangan and Yangjeong-dong, Busan, respectively, in early 2018.
The three companies plan to apply various ICT-based services and facilities to Hana Stay, including IoT-based smart homes, Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), healthcare, integrated security systems, car sharing, and O2O (Online to Offline) services.
For smart homes, home network systems and built-in devices such as voice-recognition AI speakers and heating/cooling units will be installed as standard. Additionally, IoT services such as facility management for lighting and HVAC, as well as remote meter reading, will be applied to ensure efficient energy management within the housing complex.
In addition, through cooperation with NSOK, we plan to introduce various security services for rental housing and commercial buildings, including security and video surveillance, parking control, and unmanned parcel delivery.
Baek Je-wook, CEO of HN Housing Rental Management, stated, “Hanas [uses] the content of SK Telecom, one of the nation's top IT companies.“We will apply this to Tay to improve the convenience and quality of life of residents,” they stated, adding, “Through this MoU, we plan to develop various services centered on housing in the future.”

KT Automatically Detects Vulnerable Areas with Intelligent CCTV
KT announced that it will conduct a pilot application of its intelligent video security service 'GiGAeyes' at the model house 'Beomeo Neighborhood Seohan Idaeum' opening on the 12th in Daegu, and will support the construction of smart apartments going forward. GiGAeyes is a service that enables video surveillance through high-definition CCTV, cutting-edge video analysis, and integrated control based on IoT convergence and fusion. The service is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of this year. Visitors to the model house will be able to experience GiGAeyes' advanced convergence control service at KT's dedicated promotional booth.

From KT 5G to various IoT technologies, you can find them at WIS 2017
KT는 24일부터 27일까지 나흘간 코엑스(COEX)에서 열리는 국내 최대 정보통신박람회 ‘월드IT쇼 2017(이하 WIS 2017)’에 참가해 ‘미리 보는 평창 5G’ 주제로 전시관을 선보인다. KT는 이번 전시에서 ▲5G 네트워크 존(5G Network Zone) ▲융합 서비스 존(Convergence Service Zone) 등 총 2개 존으로 전시관을 구성했다. 전시관 입구에는 ‘5G 네트워크’ 존을 구성하고 KT 무선가입자들을 위한 스마트폰 배터리 소모 절감 기술인 C-DRX(Connected mode Discontinuous Reception)를 배치했다. KT 무선가입자들은 C-DRX를 통해 스마트폰 배터리 이용시간이 최대 45% 증대되는 효과를 누릴 수 있다. C-DRX는 데이터 사용 시 항상 연결 상태가 되어 배터리를 소모하던 기존의 방식을 개선해, 송수신이 없을 때는 통신 기능을 꺼 둠으로써 배터리 소모를 절감하는 방식이다. 전시장 내에서 관람객은 홀로렌즈의 MR을 통해 상세 설명을 들으며 KT 무선 가입자 전체가 1초당 절감하는 전력을 활용한 수천 개의 LED 전구로 눈 내리는 겨울을 형상화한 미디어 파사드를 감상할 수 있다. 미디어 파사드를 통과하면 5G 기술을 만나볼 수 있다. 평창 5G 규격 기반의 속도, 커버리지, 장비를 소개하며 부스 중앙의 디오라마를 통해 5G 기술에 대한 증강현실(AR) 설명도 함께 제공한다. ‘융합 서비스’ 존 전면에는 관람객들이 KT의 5G 서비스를 다양한 동계 스포츠를 즐기며 실감나게 체험할 수 있는 VR 기구를 갖췄다. 루지와 알파인 스키, 봅슬레이, 피겨스케이팅 등 다양한 VR 기구들을 통해 관람객들이 5G 서비스를 체험할 수 있다.
