Wacom has announced the PTH-111 Wacom Clipboard, a smartpad that converts signed documents using regular paper and ink into digital form in real time.

This product is part of Wacom's signature solution family, and includes the ability to capture and attach biometric handwritten signatures as files. Digital documents are stored on the local PC and can be immediately uploaded to servers and cloud services, allowing for easy document management.

The Wacom Clipboard provides a way to digitize and store documents easily and securely without changing the paper-based work environment used in the field. This product is especially suitable for the service, medical, insurance, and public sectors that want to maintain existing paper forms but store them digitally.

When a user places a document on the Wacom Clipboard, the built-in barcode reader automatically recognizes the document and transmits it to a PC or mobile device for viewing as a digital document. Users can fill out paper forms as they normally would, using the included ink pen, and everything written with the pen on the smartpad is recognized and streamed in real time to the host device, becoming a digital document.

The core of the Wacom Clipboard that supports this is EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) technology that supports high-quality digital handwriting performance and biometric electronic signature technology embedded in digital documents.
