Introduction to process automation solutions and success stories

Schneider Electric Korea announced that it successfully held the Smart Factory Process Automation Conference 2017 at the MVL Hotel in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do on the 8th. The conference invited representatives from the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries in Yeosu to officially announce the opening of Schneider Electric's Yeosu branch and showcase Schneider's process automation solutions.

The conference was a great success, with approximately 100 executives and employees from major domestic and international companies, including LG Chem, GS Caltex, Lotte Chemical, and POSCO ICT, in attendance. More than 20 executives and employees, including Jeon Seok-bae, Managing Director of Schneider Electric Systems Korea, which oversees Schneider Electric's process automation business, also attended.

Beginning with a keynote address by Executive Director Jeon Seok-bae, the event featured six seminar sessions, each introducing Schneider Electric's next-generation process automation solutions. The event also featured demonstrations of approximately ten products, including the Foxboro Evo process automation system, Triconex, and Modicon PLC. Furthermore, consulting sessions on customized process automation solutions tailored to the business needs of customers seeking process efficiency and safety were well-received.

The Foxboro Evo process automation system, showcased at the conference, features fault-tolerant, high-availability control capabilities. Our family of non-stop components enables you to collect business-critical data, share it with field operators, and enable them to make insightful decisions based on the collected data.



It also streamlines and automates engineering, enabling faster and more flexible response to issues, ensuring operational integrity. Furthermore, the newly unveiled Tricon CX boasts a 67% reduction in weight and a 50% reduction in size compared to its predecessor, resulting in a lighter and more compact design. Its low power consumption and five-fold improvement in power module separation speed improve space and operational efficiency. Expectations are high in an industry where space is limited and efficient power consumption and rapid response capabilities are paramount.

The Modicon M580 is the world's first product to feature an Ethernet communication system integrated into its primary communication line, setting it apart from existing products that utilize bus technology. This enhances device-to-device connectivity and communication, maximizing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) functionality. It also features web server functionality, allowing for easy system status monitoring and management.
