SK Telecom Takes the Lead in Creating an Ecosystem Linking IoT Networks and Big Data

SK Telecom held the All Things Data Conference 2017, where attendees could view examples of digital innovation in existing industries utilizing big data and specific business models all in one place.
This conference was organized to introduce SK Telecom's big data capabilities and examples of convergence with various existing industrial sectors, as well as to provide attendees with new business models and foster new collaborative relationships.
In his keynote speech on the theme of 'AI-Powered Digital Innovation,' Professor Byung-Tak Jang of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University gave a lecture on big data and deep learning artificial intelligence technologies, industry trends, and AI digital innovation strategies for creating new industries.
In addition, Park Jin-hyo, Head of Network Technology at SK Telecom, presented 'The Role of IoT Infrastructure and SK Telecom's Current Status and Plans' for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while Heo Il-kyu, Head of Data Business at SK Telecom, introduced data innovation strategies confirmed through evaluations of data utilization by various global companies.
In the individual sessions held from 3 p.m. on this day, a total of 16 lectures were delivered, with 4 lectures each in the 4 sectors of distribution and logistics, retail, and e-commerce; manufacturing; finance and public sector; and construction and home appliances.
Through this conference, SK Telecom provides insights to companies considering the convergence of advanced ICT technologies with their existing businesses.It was expected that a partnership could be established to provide [services] and jointly explore new business directions. SK Telecom plans to utilize the combination of IoT networks and big data in various fields, such as electricity supply, urban planning, and the formulation of welfare policies.
"For the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is essential to create an ecosystem where advanced ICT technologies and various industries converge and grow together," said Cha In-hyuk, Head of the IoT Business Division at SK Telecom. "To this end, SK Telecom will continue to create opportunities to provide operators with differentiated ideas and insights."

SKT, 아파트의 경쟁력은 공기질로 승부
나날이 심각해지는 미세먼지로 가족의 건강에 대한 우려가 커지는 가운데 최신 빅데이터 분석 기술을 활용해 집안 공기질을 자동으로 관리해주는 서비스가 나왔다. SK텔레콤은 자사의 스마트홈 플랫폼과 연동된 공기 관련 기기들로부터 각종 공기 데이터 수집하고 분석해 맞춤형 실내공기 관리 가이드를 제공하고, 연동기기를 자동으로 작동시키는 스마트홈 에어케어 서비스를 출시한다고 밝혔다. 공기 관련 기기는 에어컨, 공기청정기, 에어워셔, 공기질 측정기 등이다. 또한, SK테크엑스의 웨더폼을 통해 수집한 집 부근의 온도나 미세먼지 등 기상 상태를 실내 공기 정보와 함께 분석 후 서울삼성병원 전문의의 건강 관리 가이드를 제공한다. 계절과 실·내외 상태, 자녀의 건강상태 등을 종합적으로 고려한 1,000여개의 다양한 팁을 얻을 수 있다.

Ecolab and K-water Discuss Innovation Collaboration in Advanced Industry Water Management
Ecolab and the Korea Water Resources Corporation jointly discussed cooperation directions for maximizing water use efficiency in advanced industries such as semiconductors and data centers and establishing sustainable water circulation. 에이지에너지가 태양광 발전예측 및 I-V커브 이상진단 기술로 중소벤처기업부 녹색기술인증을 획득했다. AI 기반 자산관리 플랫폼 솔라온케어는 전국 3,000개 이상 발전소에 적용되어 99.82%의 시스템 가동률과 3.7% 발전성능 개선을 달성했다. 실시간 데이터 분석을 통해 모듈 노화와 부분 음영 등 미세한 손실을 조기에 감지하고 관리함으로써 발전 수익을 보호한다.

삼성전자, EHS 히트펌프 보일러 광주서 국내 생산…연 10만 대 규모
삼성전자가 난방 전기화 추진에 맞춰 광주사업장에서 EHS 히트펌프 보일러 국내 생산 체제를 구축한다. 2,132㎡ 규모 전용라인에서 이달 시험생산을 시작해 9월 말 본격 양산에 돌입할 예정이며, 연간 10만 대 이상 생산 능력을 갖춘다. 투입 전력 대비 약 5배 열을 생성하는 이 제품은 계절성능계수 4.9를 기록하며 화석연료 기반 보일러 대비 에너지 효율이 높고 탄소 배출을 줄인다.
