Wireless sensor-based systems…overcoming the error and damage problems of wired and magnetic methods

IoT specialist company Conus has completed patent registration for its wireless sensor-based smart presence detection technology.

The technology for which this patent was acquired is a system that accurately determines the presence of a human body or other objects by using two sensors that detect temperature and movement in combination, and includes the function of converting the information into data and displaying and storing it on a monitor device (DID, Digital Information Display), LED indicator, wired/wireless server, etc.

This is the core technology of the smart toilet system, one of Conus' main businesses. Since last year, Korea Expressway Corporation has been carrying out the 'Highway Rest Area Toilet Remodeling Project' to install smart toilet systems in highway rest area toilets across the country. So far, 38 restrooms have been installed, and among them, the restrooms at Chilgok Rest Area (Busan direction) and Hwaseong Rest Area (Mokpo direction) were selected as the best and excellent restrooms, respectively, in the Korea Expressway Corporation’s 2nd half of 2016 excellent restroom restroom evaluation.



With this patented technology, Conus plans to improve the shortcomings of existing wired and magnetic systems, such as high cost, lack of accuracy, and frequent breakdowns, while starting full-scale development of an IoT system that can be optimized to meet customer needs without restrictions on location or distance, such as in hospitals, schools, and tunnels.

In addition, the strategy is to expand the scope of application of existing technologies, which were limited to human body detection, to various objects such as automobiles, thereby expanding the business group.
