Designer Tien Pham has launched a new eyelash LED called f.lashes. The LEDs come in seven colors, and by inserting a 500 won coin-sized module into your head, you can create different patterns of light with each movement of your head. Pham unveiled the eyelash LEDs at Maker Faire earlier this year and has since launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for commercialization. The Verge reports that while commercialization remains a daunting task, you could see them at clubs and festivals in the near future.

Gulf News reports that Dubai plans to introduce self-driving cars as its road police. The autonomous robot, about the size of a toy electric car, features a 360-degree camera and facial recognition technology to detect criminals. Built by Singapore-based OTSAW Digital, the O-R3 is a package that includes not only a self-driving car but also an autonomous drone that can fly into areas where cars are inaccessible. OTSAW officials stated that the O-R3 is not intended to replace human police officers, but rather to perform "low-level enforcement tasks." The robots are planned to be deployed first at tourist sites.


#Facebook News Feed Algorithm
Facebook announced that it is changing its News Feed algorithm to curb those who frequently update their feeds with sensational websites. Reuters reported that while Facebook has previously worked to block spam, the change comes after the widespread spread of fake news on Facebook during the U.S. presidential election, recognizing the urgency of the situation. Typically, the News Feed algorithm determines which posts people see from friends, advertisers, and other sources, and the order in which they appear based on how users have responded to previous posts. The new algorithm will deprioritize links from spammers.

Business Insider introduced the "Token," a ring that replaces smart cards and smart keys. The Token supports NFC, Bluetooth, and is waterproof, and is managed via an app. Adding a Visa or Mastercard allows you to use it as a credit card, or as a transit or commuter pass. Adding terminals to your home and car turns it into a key. If compatible with a laptop via Bluetooth, you can unlock it by knocking twice instead of entering a password. The battery lasts for two weeks on a single charge and costs between $249 and $299.
