'Alarm warning!' when dropped 30m to prevent loss

Gone are the days when people returning from vacations would stand by airport conveyor belts, waiting endlessly for their personal bags to come out.

All you have to do is attach a newly released location-detecting IoT device to your bag, and you can comfortably sit near the baggage claim area and hear a notification sound on your smartphone to confirm that your bag has arrived.

SK Telecom announced that it has launched the 'Smart Tracker', an IoT device that prevents the loss of personal items such as wallets, travel bags, and smartphones, together with venture company EHI.

'Smart trackers' come in two types: a tag type the size of a biscuit (36X22X4.5mm) and a card type the size of a credit card (86X54X1.3mm). It is a device that prevents loss or confirms location by notifying when the distance between the tracker and the mobile phone is more than 20~30m via Bluetooth communication with the smartphone.

The tag type can prevent loss by sounding an alarm on both the smartphone and the tracker, while the card type can prevent loss by sounding an alarm on the smartphone.

When the distance between the smart tracker and the smartphone decreases, you can check the location of the 'smart tracker' with a proximity notification sound.

The 'smart tracker' is equipped with a button. When you press the button within the Bluetooth communication range, your smartphone will make a sound and you can check your location. Additionally, the tag type has a built-in buzzer, so you can use it in the opposite way, making the tracker emit a sound from your smartphone.

If you did not hear the warning sound or see the warning message, you can check the last location where the connection with your smartphone was lost through a map (※T Map in Korea, Google Map overseas). In Korea, you can also check the route to that location through T Map route search.
