“This is an exciting time in technology, as digital transformation is in full swing,” said Matt Kixmoeller, vice president of products at Pure Storage, during a press conference at Pure Live 2017. “As the amount of data in the world continues to grow, we need to learn how to process it close to its source.”

At Pure Live, held in Korea on the 13th, Pure Storage unveiled its vision for a cloud-era data platform that supports companies in accelerating innovation and business transformation. The new data platform consists of cutting-edge hardware and over 25 software features.

The new Purity//FA 5.0 software for the FlashArray product line redefines Tier 1 storage to meet the demands of mission-critical cloud-era workloads. A key feature of Purity//FA 5.0 is ActiveCluster, a true active/active metro stretch cluster solution that extends availability to unprecedented levels.

It also ensures business continuity across a single data center or geographically dispersed locations. New features in Purity//FA 5.0 include policy-based QoS and Purity CloudSnap. Policy-based QoS is essential for consolidating diverse workloads onto a single FlashArray or implementing service provider business models, while CloudSnap provides the ability to move snapshots between public clouds and storage.

Along with the NVMe all-flash array, FlashArray//X, the company also announced the NVMe-based DirectFlash Shelf. DirectFlash Shelf leverages Pure Storage's proprietary software-defined DirectFlash Modules to expand the capacity of FlashArray//X beyond what the chassis can provide, delivering NVMe scalability across a dedicated 50GB/s RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) v2 NVMe/F fabric.

FlashBlade systems transform big data into high-velocity data, delivering the value of iterative real-time analytics, advanced AI and machine learning, and rich simulations for data of all sizes. At Pure Live today, Pure Storage announced updates to the FlashBlade product line.

Pure Storage announced Pure1 META, an AI platform that delivers on its vision of self-driving storage. Pure1 META delivers global intelligence through the analysis of over 1 trillion data points collected daily, simplifying storage management, analytics, and technical support. This represents a groundbreaking advancement in enterprise AI and machine learning. Pure1 META's workload DNA generation capability enables enterprises to simultaneously forecast capacity and performance for the first time, providing analytics-based and predictive advice on workload placement, interaction, and optimization.
