Lenovo Recruits Participants for 'Lenovo Legion Championship'
Published2017.08.09 13:47Lenovo announced on the 26th that it is recruiting participants for the 'Lenovo Legion Championship – StarCraft Remastered' to be held at the DPG Zone in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
This Lenovo Legion Championship will be conducted as a tournament with 128 participants selected online. In addition, as an event match, four first-generation pro gamers—Park Jung-seok, Park Tae-min, Lee Yoon-yeol, and Lee Sung-eun—are scheduled to play StarCraft Remastered on Lenovo's high-performance gaming laptop, the Legion Y720.
The tournament for the general public, starting at 10:00 AM, will proceed as single-elimination qualifiers up to the Round of 32, while matches from the Round of 16 onwards will be played in a best-of-three format. Additionally, matches starting from the semifinals will be broadcast live via Afreeca TV, YouTube, and Facebook Live streaming services to provide an exciting glimpse of the matches. With a total prize pool worth 5 million won, the first-place winner will receive a Lenovo Legion Y720 gaming laptop worth 2 million won, the second-place winner a Lenovo Legion Y520 gaming laptop worth 1.2 million won, the third-place winner a Lenovo IdeaCentre 720 worth 1.1 million won, and the fourth-place winner a Yoga Book W LTE worth 700,000 won.
From 7 PM, a photo event and lucky draw event with first-generation legendary pro gamers Lee Yun-yeol, Park Jung-seok, Park Tae-min, and Lee Sung-eun will also be held. Afterwards, starting at 8:00, StarCraft Remastered matches featuring first-generation legendary pro gamers will take place, and all matches will be broadcast live via online streaming channels.
Entry and admission to the competition are free, and visitors can experience Lenovo's high-performance gaming laptops firsthand at a separate exhibition booth within the DPG Zone from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. In addition, various on-site events are scheduled to take place.

Lenovo Korea announced the launch of its premium gaming tablet, the 'Tab4 Plus Series'. The Lenovo Tab4 Plus Series is a premium model targeting users who consume high-performance multimedia such as games, and is characterized by combining powerful multimedia features with tablet convenience. The Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus and Lenovo Tab4 10 Plus are equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (Octa-core 2.0GHz). Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
