Samsung Electronics held the 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2017' event at the Park Avenue Armory in New York on the 23rd (local time) with approximately 1,500 people including global media and partners in attendance, and unveiled the 'Galaxy Note 8', the latest model in the Galaxy Note series that sets a milestone for large-screen smartphones.

The 'Galaxy Note 8' unveiled on this day features the 'Infinity Display' design that maximizes immersion and minimizes bezels, allowing users to do more on a larger screen with the largest 6.3-inch screen in the Galaxy Note series.

In particular, the 'S Pen', which is a unique feature of the Galaxy Note series and has created a unique smart device usage culture, supports 'Live Message', which allows you to create your own personalized GIF files, and presents a new method of communication. Additionally, the Galaxy Note8 is the world's first to feature a 12-megapixel dual camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), providing a next-level camera experience. Beyond this, the S Pen itself, along with the smartphone itself, boasts powerful features typical of Galaxy smartphones, including IP68-rated water and dust resistance, biometric authentication such as iris/fingerprint/facial recognition, wired and wireless fast charging, and a 10nm processor and 6GB of RAM.

1. Create a GIF file directly with the S Pen and share it via instant message.

The S Pen, a further evolution of the Galaxy Note8, goes beyond comfortable writing and convenient usability to present a new way of communication that allows for unique expression.

Samsung Electronics introduced the 'Moving GIF Photo' mode in 2015, which allows users to create moving GIFs by taking continuous photos, and last year, it introduced the Smart Select function, which allows users to easily create moving GIFs by capturing moving GIFs with the S Pen or capturing only the desired part while watching a video. The Galaxy Note8 goes one step further by supporting 'Live Message', which allows users to create GIF files using the S Pen and share them via instant messages.

Users can use the S Pen's various pens and brushes to write or draw, add special effects, and create a video of up to 15 seconds long that can be shared via instant messages. The animated GIF file can be saved in the gallery and reused whenever needed.

Additionally, the 'Screen-off memo' feature, which allows you to take notes while the screen is off, such as when you need to write down things you need to do or ideas that suddenly come to mind, has been further developed.
In the 'Galaxy Note8', you can edit memos with the screen off, and you can add pages up to 100 pages.

The Galaxy Note8 also features more sophisticated, specialized features that allow you to conveniently use the S Pen simply by holding it close to the display. The "Translator" feature now translates not just words but also sentences, recognizing 39 languages and translating them into 71. Additionally, if you hold the S Pen close to the amount, length, or weight information, it will convert and display the desired exchange rate or unit conversion information.

The Galaxy Note8's S Pen features a 0.7mm tip diameter and 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, providing a natural writing experience similar to that of a real pen. Furthermore, both the Galaxy Note8 and the S Pen are IP68 water and dust resistant, allowing you to utilize its various functions even in wet environments like rain.

2. Application of the unique 'Infinity Display', optimal grip

The Galaxy Note8 features the largest 6.3-inch screen among Galaxy Note products and features an Infinity Display design completed with Samsung Electronics' proprietary technology, providing an optimal grip that allows for comfortable use with one hand.

The Galaxy Note8 features a Quad HD+ (2960x1440) Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 screen ratio and a black bezel on the front, allowing you to enjoy both 16:9 and 21:9 content with an immersive experience and check more information on one screen.

In particular, the multitasking feature, which allows users to use multiple applications simultaneously on a large screen, has been further enhanced. "App Pair," available on the Edge panel, allows users to simultaneously run two frequently used applications in multi-window mode. 3. 'Dual Camera' for clear zoom shots anytime, anywhere

The Galaxy Note8 is the first Galaxy smartphone to feature dual cameras on the back, including a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera, and is the world's first to feature optical image stabilization (OIS) on both cameras, providing a more advanced camera experience.

The Note 8 is equipped with a wide-angle camera with a 12-megapixel dual-pixel image sensor and F1.7 lens, and a telephoto camera with a 12-megapixel image sensor and F2.4 lens. Using the two cameras, it supports 2x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom, and with the addition of shake correction using the dual optical image stabilization (OIS) function, you can take clear zoom shots anytime, anywhere.

First, the "Live Focus" feature allows users to adjust the level of background blur and visually inspect the shot. Even after shooting, you can adjust the background blur to your liking at any time in the gallery. Bixby Voice, which supports almost all touch-enabled commands through voice, is currently available in English and Korean in over 200 countries around the world.

The Galaxy Note8 supports various biometric authentication methods, including iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition, allowing users to choose the one they prefer based on security and convenience. It also features a 10nm processor and 6GB of internal memory, providing a smoother smartphone usage experience.
